NIEPMD review

First of all, this is the only college in India for multiple disabilities.Second of all, it is Asias first college for people with multiple disabilities.I choose this college as it's a national institute and comes under the department of social justice and welfare, there is always recognitiin for national institutes, i got other colleges but I opted for this because 1) due to lower fees 2) central govt institute 3)Deals with Multiple Disabilities. The admission process to come to this college can be done through 2 ways: 1) Through CET(Common entrance test) 2) Through Tamilnadu state counselling 10 seats are reserved for state students and the remaining 18 seats are for all over india...Read More

For getting in this college we have to give CET held by nild at that time. There were only three colleges offering the courses (Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics) that time NILD in Kolkata, SVNIRTAR in Cuttack, NIEPMD in Chennai. Now there are five institute offering courses. My common rank was 366 in General Category at that time. I was called for counselling. Counselling letter was recieved by me by speed post. My counselling day was on third day, I was interested in SVNIRTAR as it is the oldest and famous insititute. My first preference was Bachelor of Physiotherapy in SVNIRTAR. But my hopes got broken when i saw that all seat have been filled for the general category in both NILD , SVNIRTAR and 2 seats were remaining in NIEPMD. I had not imagined that.Even i left hope that I will get the admission. But Miracle or something else I got the seat and as it is national institute everyone was happy > Comparing NIEPMD, other institutes were not that good. NILD infrastructure is very old just like a govt hospital and too situtated inside a road, Plus hostel were not provided immediately. >SVNIRTAR was very far from the main city and same govt. hospital feels >We have to be 12th pass with 50% aggregate in (Physics, Chemistry and Biology )Subject > Date of birth should be more than 17 and less than 27 at that time >Mostly students prefer BPT rather BOT...Read More
