Overall review of CU

There is one online test called cucet which is for availing scholarship and max you can avail is 100% scholarship and this test is done under observation of proctor. Currently direct admission is allowed and you can continue your scholarship after 2nd semester only if you will be having 75% attendance and 7.5 cgpa. Now talking about placement and faculties so faculties are good enough but you have to do extra for placement and also renowned companies used to come in this college so scope is good and rest depends on a person.

I chose this course as i want to go to government PSU's through GATE . Faculties are intelligent and supportive and teaching quality is also good. They also keep pressurising students to study which is very nice. After one unit completion which comprises of one or two or max three chapters, there will be mid semester test and in one semester there will be two mst and a final exam. And the level of mst is good so all you have to do is practice.

Many good companies used to come for internships and if you do well for them , there will be higher chances of getting placed at good position in that company. Also they give quite good stipend but this is only for some companies. Projects, research papers, patent are those for which this college encourage students for making their c.v strong that's why cu has record of highest no of patents filed yet.

Here placement companies comes at good package but it depends on you and your skills to take that package. But still highest package ever got in mechanical is about 15 lpa which is quite good and average is about 4 lpa. Approximately all students get placed till now and also companies are allowed to visit for 3rd and half year.

Your can avail scholarship by giving cucet in which you can avail upto 100 percent scholarship but you have to keep 75% attendance and 7.5 cgpa to continue scholarship after 1st year. Also this test can be attempted two times i.e., in September and december.

If i talk about infrastructure so its very good looking, neat, clean and furnished specially south campus. There are many canteen, caffe etc. So all the Shops are available. Now there are many libraries where there are plenty of good books and you can borrow them for a week. Same you can borrow any sports item for 5 days. There are many sports events there and a huge sports complex where you can play any game.

Hostels here are one of the best hostel i have ever seen. It is well equipped with a seperate almirah and set of chair and desk with shelf for a person and a seperate bed with storing boxes in it for a person and many more . Talking about mess quality it is good enough and worth the money

I gave common admission test organized by chandigarh university (CUCAT) which is an online exam and contains 100 marks and if you get above 90 marks, you will get 100% scholarship. Test was not difficult but for maintaining scholarship , 7.5 cgpa per year is required.
