Remarks

Admission process is quite simple. There is no hard and core entrance exam for the engineering courses. A student can give a scholarship test if he/she wants. A student just need to fill the simple application form at the reception with his/her full academic and personal details. After that the college will give you a prospectus which costs 1000 rs that every college will provide you at different costs. then the student has to pay its first semester fees according to the date provided to them. That's it.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

There are various engineering and non engineering courses in our college. The course which I took is Engineering Course in the stream of computer science because my motive is to solve the problems by enhancing my programming skills. Faculty is very helpful in nature and their qualifications is at least Mtech/MCA/PhD or doctorate. Teaching methods are so simple, practical and effective that everyone can understand the concept they are teaching. Exams are on time after the sessional examinations are over. The difficulty level is moderate by considering all the students(poor, mediocre, intelligent). The average student can easily pass the final examinations if he/she grabs the concepts that teachers are teaching during classes submit the assignments on time and at least get passing marks including both the sessionals exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure varies for the different courses. As for my course, the overall cost is 4,95,000.SC/OBC students can grab the scholarships and also the general category students can get the scholarship by taking the entrance scholarship exam. If a student has cleared JEE/JEE Advanced, then also there is some concession on fees. There are a lot of companies that come to our college for placements like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Wipro, TCS, Luminous, Byjus, Infosys etc. Students can get jobs by clearing the placement process like clearing different rounds including aptitude, technical, HR round etc.

Campus Life

4

The Techno-festival comprised of various technical events, creative competitions and talent-oriented cultural performances. The Amritsar Group of Colleges organized the 15th edition of the AGC's Techno Cultural Festival i.e. Prayaas 2020. There are numerous variety of books available in our library A student can take benefits of books by reading and by borrowing it.Almost every class is e-classroom and furniture and lights are at very good condition. Lots of sports activities like football and cricket are going on every year for the students as well as for the teachers. Students can take part in various extra curricular activities like quizzes, competitions etc and enhance their skills and expand their knowledge.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
