Remarks

This college used to come under GGSIPU till (2019) and GGSIPU started taking admissions using JEE MAINS score from that year onwards. You just have to fill out an application form & pay a charge of around 1k for GGSIPU registration. And once the counseling starts you again have to pay some counseling fee of around 1k and fill out the preferences and after round 1 of counseling you have to pay 40k to secure that seat or to go for further rounds in the counseling. But now (from the 2020 batch), This college got adopted by NSUT and all the admissions are happening through JAC(Joint Academic Counselling) now.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Just like most of the engineering colleges in India, the course curriculum is just average. But mostly faculties are qualified and friendly obviously except few. Labs and libraries are also equipped. Since I am following the GGSIPU curriculum, I can say it is easy to pass term exams by normal studies and you can score decent GPAs if you write your answers smartly and presentably.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Most on-campus companies are approaching through NSUT main campus and they are giving decent CTC with good roles. Also, the number of students getting placed off campus is also good. Students are getting placed at companies like RedHat, BharatPe, IndiaMart, TCS, Accenture, Amdocs, and Wipro. Overall placements are average with decent CTC.

Placement Experience

3.5

The previous year's trend was that most of the students pursuing the course appear for higher studies or govt jobs and the rest who appeared for placement didn't use to get better on-campus packages. But this trend has changed drastically in recent years and students started getting decent packages and the percentages of students placed have also shot up exponentially. Companies are also visiting the campus for internships now.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was admitted under GGSIPU, and fee structure was the crazy thing about this college back then. Our annual fee was 38k and along with that, we have several scholarships too like merit cum means scholarship and scholarships for scoring positions in the batch. Apart from that, you can also take central government or state government schemes as well.

Campus Life

1

Campus life was a downside of this college, Annual fests and other competitions hardly existed on the campus. But in recent years, there are several improvements and hopefully, in later years this might have a good social life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

I would not suggest On Campus placement for this college as the placement cell is not very good here. However one can score a great package if they develop skills in the field of chemical engineering.
