Remarks

As such there is no such entrance test which marks a cut off for the seats . but for scholarship, they have there own CUCET(CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY COMMON ENTRANCE TEST) test. This exam is compulsory for all students but does not decide whether you will get a seat or paying course fee does . In 2021, we had 10K freshers, and around 7000 CSE students. So i guess seat availability is not much an issue here. I think apart from scholarship that cucet test also decides which section you will get as they tend to make neutralize classroom intelligence. You can Register for the exam on cucet.cuchd.com and you pay the 1000rs test fees you can give that test . If you were not able to give test due to some error, then you can easily reschedule the test. You will have to upload documents regarding you criteria in which you are applying for scholarship in the cucet portal. The process is simpler, can be simpler if they become successful in giving a very clear path about this process on their website.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am a B.E CSE student in currently my second semester. I would not say there are fewer teachers. And most of them are PHD's or researchers who are doing PhD. I would say most of the teachers have good experience in teaching and any complaint regarding any teacher is taken very seriously and solutions are discussed as soon as possible . There is also something called E-GOVERNANCE which keeps and check if classroom decoram is maintained, teacher are in classes for teaching etc.. Talking about exams , i gave my last exam for 1 sem yesterday and i gave exams online mode, i would say they are a little harder but the exam content always comes from syllabus and ppts. And they are very easy to pass.

Placement Experience

4

From what I have heard from seniors, the placement system is kind of tricky to understand. Of course, they have 70-80% placement but with 3-4 lakhs. Many big companies come to University but students are not prepared to crack them. Still, University tries its best to get you placed by approaching many companies. My plans are for further studies. Might go for M.E

Fees and Financial Aid

In my year 2021, course fees is 90,000rs may differ for international students 5000 more maybe. This figure will increase year as one of year's who is in 3rd year pays 80000 rs . Nevertheless, these are still less than other private colleges according to friends and colleagues. That's what they said when i asked them why they chose this university. You get a scholarship based on the CUCET exam before admission. I didn't apply for financial assistance or anything like that but i think you can pay fees in installments if you want. They have a procedure mentioned for that in their website.

Campus Life

5

In my first semester, we had 2-3 fests all of them were music fests. And they were on a pretty large scale. Many famous singers came to our university. There are no as such timings for fest they keep happening regularly. There is a separate library for each block building. There is one big Library in the central building. Which is my personal best. There are a lot of books and ample space to study. The classroom is clean and well maintained. Teachers use ppt so there is also a projector in each class and they teach through that projector. Clubs are bug part of this university, as soon as you join University you will start getting approached for joining clubs and being part of a club is good as it also helps in getting more marks in" life skill and mentoring" subject. There are many goops for coding, sports, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities can vary from hostel to hostel as there are 3 main hostels for boys: 1. Nek Chand -6 buildings 2. Zakir - 2 buildings 3. LC - I don't know about this because these hostels are in another part of campus. For 2 for girls: 1. Sukhna 2. Tagore And one more 1. Govind which is outside the campus and might need to avail transportation services. The price may vary for room seat accomodation limit. I have 4 seats for 90000. +-5000 per person and separate prices for rooms with AC. I am not a very big fan of Mess but I would say you can eat. If I was to rate food it will be 7/10. Just because they have provided a very well-balanced diet. The registration process is very simple, as soon as they open the hostel pay the fee and your seat is reserved. They work with the first come first serve model

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
