Everything is overall good, student- friendly environment

You can give CUCET exam for getting admission to Chandigarh University. CUCET is an admission cum scholarship exam organized by CU for admission purposes. If you don't want to give CUCET then you can apply through merit on the basis of your 12th mark. Scholarship benefits are also available if you have got good rank in JEE(Here, I am specifically talking about BE as I am a student of BE-CSE). Also, You can apply for scholarships through other concessions like single girl child, teacher's ward concession, Old student concession for higher education, early-bird concession, sibling concession, and many more. Courses are designed carefully for all programs. University tries its best to give students wonderful experiences in academics. Also, the faculty members in CU are student-friendly and give their best to teach and help students to grow. Every Semester they take 2 mid-semester theory exams, 1 practical exam, 1 final practical exam, and then final theory exam. You can easily score good marks if you were attentive during lectures.

Chandigarh University's fees structure is not affordable for everyone but you can apply for scholarships and educational loans easily with the help of the university. Fees of course increase by every year. When I applied for BE-CSE in 2020, the course fee was 80000 per semester. For, current fees you may visit on university's website.

CU keeps organizing fests, events, and workshops for students. Like in August 2021, They organized the Tech Invent Event where students participated in many sub-events and workshops like photography, painting, designing, programming, and many more. There were cash prices for winners and obviously participation certificates for everyone. The campus is really vibrant enough to make your college life the best. There are many food outlets, sports complexes, basketball, badminton and volleyball courts. Also, classrooms are spacious enough and furniture remains in a good state. Libraries are big and have all the necessary books. CU has many clubs and societies which you can join according to your hobbies like dance, music, tech, programming, photography, etc. Most of the societies are by the students and for the students.

You can easily apply for a hostel by contacting the university through the mail. Mails are provided on the university's website. When reached in the room you will get a bed without a mattress, table chair, and a cupboard. You need to take lock for the cupboard and mattress with you. Girls hostel rooms are spacious enough but boys hostel rooms aren't that spacious. Meals are of average quality in mess. You can get good food once in a blue moon. Washrooms and bathrooms aren't clean most of the time. Hostel fees structure is available on the website but the most common room taken is 4 seater which is 90000 per year. My overall experience wasn't good there in the hostel.
