Remarks

The top most college in tamil Nadu, I'l say if u get a seat then please join it has very good placements, there are fests in which you can participate, have fun and what not.

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE entrance exam in 2011 and I got an All India Rank of 12,108 fow which I would have got few NITs also but why I opted SASTRA is it is the top most autonomous college in Tamil Nadu and has very good campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure is very well defined giving each subject a specific number of credits and the teaching goes on accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies such as Zoho, Musigma, Gofrugal, IBM provided internships but I never attended any of them.

Placement Experience

Placements are very good especially for CSE students around 95% students were placed in our batch and n number of companies came to the campusEbay 14.86 lpa, amazon 15.86 lpa, TCS 3.18 lpa, Zoho 4.6 and 6.6 lpa, bosch 4 lpa, Ford 5.5 lpaI, BM 3.15 lpaetc etc.

Daksh technical fest, Kuruksastra cultural fest, Colloseum Sports fest are held in college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are 6 hostels for boys and 3 for girls I think the hostels are well and good, the fee structure for hostels vary from Rs.6000 to rs.18000 per annum depending upon the hostels the food is average.

Here there is no gender separation like boys and girls should be seperate and stuff like that.
It is a autonomous college so courses are changing regularly with the shift in education
Here we have relative grading system therefore there is no ranking and easy to get good grades

Dislikes

We have to pay yearly fees not semester wise it difficult for low income earning families
Money is collected from students for all events happening in the college.
There is a rush for collection of fees at the start of each year and unpaid students might face absent issues

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate but i don't know much about other courses but for civil engineering the average placed ctc is 3 lakh per annum one or two students got higer package but most of the students got lower package as a fresher.

The reason i choose this college because of the really good placements available in it. The different between the college i applied for and sastra will be Reputation: In my surroundings sastra have a great goodwill and Reputation compared to other colleges.
