Remarks

My experience in IIT Ropar was very good. Our college also has very good international collaboration which gives us very good learning opportunities plus being a part of the IIT brand adds value to our personality as well as the education system. First my main priority was to clear the JEE at any cost so that I can meet the college cutoff through JEE also so I have secured 78% in my 10+2. After clearing the JEE and meeting the college cutoff I was called for the documents verification.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Being part of the IIT brands give the advantage as our college curriculum was broad and covered all types of fundamentals plus the curriculum was to the point and it help us to understand engineering in a broader way. The faculty is not only of PhD standard but they have very good understanding of the concepts and fundamentals their tips and tricks about the formulas and the research activity were quite help full for us.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I was able to get a very good internship opportunity in Tech Mahindra and was able to excel a lot and was able to learn lots of new skills which helped me in my professional career. I have completed the 10 weeks of internship and received a stipend of 40k.

Placement Experience

4.5

Being part of the IIT brands is the main USP of the college and our college is able to attract very good companies and lots of professional opportunities are available in our college. The plus point is then more than 60+ companies were part of the placement drive and my academic record was also very good so I was able to seat in more than 2 placement interviews because if we have a good academic record we can seat into more than 2 interviews for the placement. The highest placement offer of our college was around 40 LPA and the average salary offer is around 16 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fee is high it was obvious good education comes with a cost. But our college has very good scholarship schemes so that financially weak people can also avail themselves good quality education. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Institute Free Studentship, Scholarship provision for SC/ST category, Scholarship for EWS are the name of some scholarship schemes.

Campus Life

4.5

IIT Ropar's college life is full of assignments and lots of project work. Our college also offers us an industrial visit as per the curriculum requirement which is a very good experience. The college college has different and well maintained and managed labs for every department. The college library has a very good collection of books around 17000 books are available in the college library and the many documentaries video and research papers are also available in our college library. Our college life is very hectic but our college offers us very good sports facilities like Badminton Court, Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Tennis Court, Hockey, Volley Ball, Table Tennis to enjoy the time.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Our college has a total of four hostels 3 for boys and 1 for girls Jupiter, Mercury and Neptune are boys' hostels and Venus is girls' hostel. Our hostel is located on the college campus only so that we can get easy access to the classrooms. The hostel has a Gym facility also for p[lus we also have medical facility is our hostel. The food facility and the taste of the mess food are good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
