Remarks

Since it is a govt. college, so the management was little slow but not ignorant. The weak point is offcourse the placements but I dont know about the current scenario. But I would say that its a very good college for any good student. Even with limited palcement, a bright student can grab the opportunity very easily.

Entrance Preview

Punjab CET & AIEEE and I scored around 54000 in AIEEE but my Punjab CET scored me around 16000 in year 2003.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum was as per the PTU guidelines although all of the subjects are common to most of the universities like, SOM, TOM, Industrial enguneering, operations research, fluid mechanics, etc.

Internships Opportunities

There were 2 internships at that time 1 was of 45 days which myself arranged from thermal power station Kota, & 6 months which I arranged from yamaha motorcycles greated noida. Although the college also helps in arrangement of the training or internships.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements were fair but not very good that time because one reason is that this region is far from NCR and also its not regional college. Although its a govt college but there are few companies which visits in placement time. So bright students can have the opportunity to sit for the placement drive. Also university entry scheme was also there for the short listing in Indian defence services.

College Events

4.5

I must say that this college is very much alive in cultural & extra curricular events there are many societies for different deptts and for extra curricular activities like, CHESS for chemical engineers, SOAP for Production Engineers, SECA for extra curricular activities and there was a national level society which conducts events state wise and interstate wise also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I must say it was not expensive w.r.t. the current fee structure of colleges today i paid almost 30,000 / semester that time. But i dint know about the fee structure now.

Fees and Financial Aid

Only for the SC/BC students there was some scholarship schemes but not for general quuota students as far as I remember.

Campus Life

4

I must say it was the golden period of my life the never forgettable moments of my life. Extracurricular, labs sports, competitions like models making, debates, everything is there to keep you occupied and excited & running all around the year.

Hostel Facilities

3

There were 3 hostels for boys and 1 for girls. The hostels were good enough for students. But yes there were no AC in rooms and I think it was not necessary. Although the bad point was there was no cooler also but the food & toilets were fair enough.

Alumni/Alumna

That time we were making the alumni but now certainly it has the alumni the senior students and us are somehow connected with the network. Although after leaving college, its very difficult to be in touch with the college activities.

Exam Structure

All over the year we were involved into practicals & exams & vivas. Labs were good enough & when we completed our degree, we felt very exhausted and thought like not to pursue any masters because we did not want to exhert more like that way.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was experienced and very friendly and the workshops were having experienced faculty from various fields like foundary, machine shop, welding, sheet metal anf fabrication, etc.

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
