Remarks

As a student of Chandigarh University, I am the one who can give a proper and unbiased review of this university. I am a 2nd year B.E. student in CSE. It is a good university if you want opportunities but you have to grab them. Amazing fests and environment. A lot crowdy so beware. Each class has at least 72 students. You have to rely on your self-study to get good grades. Attendance is strict and you will be detained if not maintaining 75%. CUCET is a good medium to get a good scholarship. All the best.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is accurate as per the requirements. You will learn almost all the necessary skills and also they have compulsory MOOC credits to keep you updated with trending skills. The Training and Placement Program is a great program to grab good placement. Teaching is average, some a good while some are not that good. I would suggest paying more time to self-study

Placement Experience

4

I am in 2nd year so I haven't got placed yet but heard that the average package of CSE goes around 5-7 lacs while the highest is 36 lac. They prepare you through the TPP program to get you better placement. Rest pay attention to both technical as well as communication skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is 80000 for CSE, you can grab scholarships too. The best is the CUCET Scholarship. You have to give a test of PCM Computer and English and you can earn up to 100% scholarship. I got 30% through it. But any scholarship prevails only till you don't receive any back or are detained. Also if your overall cgpa is less than 7.5 then also you lose them.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is very big. You have to walk a lot to reach one place to another. No cycles or personal vehicles. Every now a then any event happens for both cultural and academic. Fest is very big and amazing. You can find a lot of interesting places here.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are a bit crowdy. You can have only 4 seater or 5 seater rooms. Some hostels doesn't even have lifts. There are nice PGs and flats available near University and also in Kharar. Mess food of the hostel is quite nice and tasty you won't complain.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
