Remarks

There was no entrance exam conducted. The cut-off for my course was 50%. If you score above the eligible percentage you can fill up the admission form which is free of cost and is available on the college website. After filling up the form if qualified the college faculty will call you and ask Rs.10,000/- for seat booking which will be further adjusted with the 1st semester fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I I am from BSc Applied psychology 1st year. I applied for this course as this is the only college in India that provides BSc Applied psychology. This subject is interesting and is fun to study. There also a huge scope of this subject in future. The strength of our class is 30. Almost all the facilities have done PhD and rest have done Masters. The faculty here is really great. They are very helpful and support. They all are highly qualified. They teach really well. Our 1st semester was of 6 months and we had plenty of time to study. But the 2nd semester was of 3 months only so the syllabus was rushed and there was very less time to study.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Till now we didn't get any intership opportunity in first year. We will be getting intership in 3rd year of our course. We got an internship opportunity from Exposys data labs. But in this case we had to pay them Rs.500/- and it wasn't even a paid internship. So, very few of us applied for that.

Placement Experience

4.5

In our BSc. Applied psychology course placements aren't available. We need to finish our master's to get placement. But intership is available in the 3rd year of our course. And we also attended an exposure project in CINI where we got exposed to a lot many new things in psychology.

Fees and Financial Aid

My course fee is Rs.30,000/- per semester and the one time admission charge was Rs.21,000/-. As compared to other private colleges or universities this is quite less. Most of my friends are studying in scholarship. But I didn't get any scholarship benifit.

Campus Life

4.5

It has one of the best campuses in the north-eastern zone. Filled with greenery and small water bodies. It has separate buildings for each school. It has a nice walking area. You will be able to connect to nature a lot. It has a swimming pool too. According to me it is an ideal campus for students. The infrastructure is great. The annual concert is known as "IMPULSE". It is a two day concert. One of the best college concerts I have ever been to. The bands performed were "Ehsaas India" and "T.R.A.P.". And it will be the most memorable 2 evenings of my life. There are regular sports competitions like "Rampage" and annual sports. Swimming, basketball court, vollyball court, football field, cricket net, etc. everything is available. There is a also a well equipped, non-A/C gym in the campus. The library is great with a lot of books. But few course books are still not available for us. There are different clubs for extra-curricular activities which you can apply once you are having classes.

Hostel Facilities

1

Hostel Building- It has the worst hostel ever. The rooms have flakes of paint on the wall and cracks all over the building. No proper sanitization. Washrooms are very nasty. The sweepers clean the room once a week. And the areas near the washroom stink a lot. If your fan or light stops working, it gets repaired after 2-3 working days. Spiders and mouldings all over the walls. The building doesn't even have a generator. Most of the showers are broken. The water quality is really bad. The water for shower and other works is salty as hell and thus your skin and hair will get really dry. Hostel Food- DANGER! It's not even food. Just water and some turmeric powder. In the beginning of the year they provide quiet an edible food just to create an illusion for the students. As the day passes the food quality degrades. And now a days the food aren't even edible. Students often get ciggerate butts, cockroaches, lizards, nail pieces cooked in the food.No actions were taking by the administration.

Interview Experience

5

No there is no exams or interviews required for admission. You can get admission directly after paying the amount. This college does not takes any exams for that but you need to score minimum 60% in 12th standard to get admission in this college.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Reviewed on Dec 17, 2024(Enrolled 2020)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
