Remarks

Eligibility of the course:- To be eligible for this course one should have at least 50 % in PCM from a recognized board. If you want to opt for the CSE branch then you should have at least 75 % on the 12th board and the time of registration also matters here, As soon as the registration starts the seats are filled. To get a seat register at the earliest for your dream branch. A good JEE score also helps you to be eligible for a fee waiver(to know more about that you have to contact the administration). To find the application form, application fees, and application dates, you can get it on cgc.edu.in which is our college website and for other information, you can check the website. You can also visit the campus and head to BLOCK -2 which is the administration block. Also, you will find centres near your home where you can meet college representatives to know more details.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose the course because I was quite interested in electronic equipment, and had a curiosity about how the components inside an electronic device function, Also with the advent of robotics, I got curious to work on robotics projects. The ECE department is known for its work on both software and hardware so you are eligible for both types of companies. Qualification of teaching faculty is quite high, about 70% of them has done their PhDs and most of them have GATE and other competitive examination. We have two exams before the final Semester exam, 1st Mid Semester Test and 2nd Mid Semester Test. It's not that difficult to pass as mostly the previous questions and most important ones are inserted in the question paper.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Walmart, for 2 months they are paying 80,000 per month. Reputed companies like just pay and Atlassian had already taken many students. 20 LPA from PlaySimple is offered to an ECE student. 11-12 LPA offered from a startup.

Placement Experience

5

From the 2nd year onwards you are eligible for placements. Placements are quite a descent here. For more details kindly visit the website, the highest package varies from year to year. My plan is to work in the corporate and pursue higher studies along with it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fee is decided by PTU which stays constant during your period of study but the hostel fees are dynamic in nature. The cost of the study is 3,48,000, 47,000 is the fee for the 1st semester after that it is 43,000 until the 8th semester. There is scholarship like NSP and various scholarships for minorities that can be availed and your fees can be reduced to 15,000 per semester. You can avail of loans from govt or private banks, they will surely pass the loan because our college is NBA accredited. I will be working in Bosch Global Software Technologies with 8LPA.

Campus Life

4

There are many fests that go on throughout the year, Because of many Punjabi singers and actors. One annual fest is conducted known as Parivatan which is techno-cultural. all course-related books are available, along with that books for gate and competitive exams are also available.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is 4 seater, 3 seaters,s, and 2 seaters hostel on our campus. You will get your personal wardrobe and bed in 4 seats. In 3 seaters and 2 seaters, along with wardrobe and bed, you will get a study table. if you want to stay in a hostel then you can opt for pg in front of the college or else you can come to Kharar or 7 phase for better accommodation. Hostels are quite expensive, according to recent data for 4 seaters you have to pay 95000, for 3 seaters it 1,00,000 and for 3 seaters (new boys hostel) and 2 seater its 1,10,000 per year. Meals are quite a descent as compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
