Remarks

eligibility is 12 results. College website, college magazine admission fee is 7000 Approximate. admission start date is July 20-25. Reservation holders get the benefit of mark relaxation. Sc/st/obc get some less percentage relaxation facility. Lengthy process Improvement need in quick admission help desk.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the bachelor of commerce I choose it because it was well famous college for the commerce stream. The student ratio was 60:40. Very good teaching process. All faculty were well educated. Always on time taking the exam It depends upon student studying and sincerness. Although it was moderate.

Class Size: 620Course Fees: INR 7000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fess was normal and decent. Fees are taken before the exam for registration it was around 700-1300and also for college admission. It was 7000 and hostels admission fees was 9000. Ishan Uday, sc scholarship etc.

Campus Life

Fest is College week, freshman, Farewell, republic day, independent day, and many programs. Maximum books were available and also competitive books also available. The library was also good. Amenities were also good. College week and also inter-college competition. NSS group. Ncc group. Scouts and guides.

Hostel Facilities

2 lights and 2 fans in one room. 24x7 running water. 6 Aqua guards were also there. Hostel food is also very good, and delicious. Need to apply hostel during college admission. After the warden calls you and confirms you. Very good for newcomers in Guwahati. Affordable by all middle class and lower also. Rent or pg charge 5000-7000 monthly but hostel charge only once a year 9000 and monthly only 2000 for meal purpose only.

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. I applied to a lot of other colleges but those were all backup for me if I didn't get admission here . I applied in dispur college , kc das commerce college , guwahati college etc . We are admitted to colleges here using the samarth website. There are two merit lists provided by each college in the samarth website. I wasn't selected in the 1st merit list in gcc which ofcourse scared me a bit , but I got my names in the other previously mentioned colleges but I wanted to wait for the second merit list for which I had to hear a lot like what if I didn't even get my name on the second list of gcc . But I was sure I would get because my percentage was just 0.4% short from the cut off of the last merit list . I wanted this college because of emotional attachments + gcc has one of the best merits among all the commerce colleges in the entire northeast . Even this year in the toppers list published by gauhati university, 9 out of 10 students were from Gcc itself...Read More
