Remarks
60% in 12th biard is the minimum requirement for be-used. I applied for a scholarship on this site cucet.such.in. I got a scholarship. Later someone called me from the admission team to the complete procedure and fee payment. Then, I paid the fee excluding the scholarship amount. Finally, I got an email confirming my admission and guidelines to go into online classes with my university account.
Course Curriculum Overview
Because I am into computers and want to excel in the field I choose B.E-CSE. Faculty: student ratio is quite enough. University has sufficient faculty to entertain doubts. There are 2 groups for each class and each group is given a separate mentor and one lecture per week with mentors to clear doubts. The faculty is well qualified but it all depends on students if they want to take full advantage or are just in college to enjoy college life. There held 2 times mid-semester exams and finally end semester exams with an evenly distributed syllabus. Exams are not hard if you worked properly and paid attention to the classes during the semester.
Internships Opportunities
I just entered my 2nd year. So, I do not consider myself eligible enough to answer this question. But, what I know is that the previous year there was a technical event at CU, by which the university was providing internship opportunities with start-ups.
Placement Experience
I have heard after the 6th sem we will be eligible for campus placements. Big names Google, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, and Walt Disney visit university for placements. This year university enters the crore club. IBM offered an international job and a whopping package to a student which when converted to INR counts as rs. 1.7 crores. The average package is 7 lakhs. I think roughly 75% of students are placed on Campus placements. I plan to join a company as a software engineer after completing my graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
My course is a 4-year program. INR 90000 per sem total 90000*8= INR 720000 for the full course I got a cut scholarship via the cucet exam frsuchcet.such.in which I was given fee waiver and the scholarship renews every year if 7.5 cgpa is maintained. You can get a 100% fee waiver too. It's quite tough but still possible by scoring 90+ marks in concert in phase-1 of the cucet exam
Campus Life
Cutest is the annual fest of Chandigarh University. Last year Beni Dyal and Mankirt Aulakh were special guests. Evenings were fun. For my course, I haven't purchased any books by myself. I tend to issue it from the central library. The library is a nice place to study with a good environment and almost every book you need, you will find here. Classrooms are smart and well equipped. But what I like most about Chandigarh Universities is its Labs. Labs have a high-speed ethernet connection and wifi connection too. All labs have a projector. The classroom and labs both have whiteboards and comfortable benches. I am not in sports so I do not know much but I do know that there is a basketball court and a sports complex. Xtra curricular activities are well supported in CU. Students from CU also win many national and international sports, cultural activities, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The room I had comes was 4 seats and came with a bed, almirah, attach washroom, study table, and balcony. This year I shifted to another hostel which has a lift but no attached washrooms but the rooms are big here. Mess food is quite ok. But variety is great. 3 times meal with snacks and tea in the evening. They will give you the menu for 10 days and change it after 10 days. Some days after my admission the university opens the hostel registration portal on victims- the university's site for connecting with students. fess is 90000 per annum. fees for our batch for the previous year were less because the semester started late and for some months we attended online classes too.
