Remarks

You have to appear for the CUCET examination for admission to this University. If you secure more than some specified marks in this test, you'll get scholarship benefits. Moreover, they provide decent scholarships on the basis of your 12th percentage and JEE ranks too.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is something that irritates me here. Like in my first semester I had to study Biology! Can you imagine that you have to study biology in an engineering course? The course curriculum is average according to me here. Talking about faculties here, 40% of them are average, 30% are awesome, and 30% are below average. Some Faculty members give you time as and when required, and will solve your doubts. But you will get good teachers for your main subjects easily. You'll have to appear 3 times for the exams in a semester. Mid-term Exams are okay you'll score well with just 2-3 days of preparation and in End-term examinations, you have to start studying at least 1 week before the commencement of the exams.

Placement Experience

4

You will get placed here in a decent company only if you prepare well for the interviews and coding rounds. You have to work on yourself, you have to grind on your own. If you just follow the university course curriculum you will land into some mass recruiter company. Companies do come here, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. visited here last year. The highest package went 52 LPA this year. University will provide you with good opportunities, it is up to you, if you have potential you will get your dream package. The simple answer to this question is: If you improve your skills from the beginning you will get a good package.

Fees and Financial Aid

Without the scholarship, the fee structure is quite high, if you avail hostel facility your BE journey will cost you around 15-18 Lakhs. Availing of the scholarship here is quite easy, you can easily get a 50% scholarship on semester fees with the CUCET examination and your 12th percentage. You have to maintain a 7.5 CGPA every year with 75% attendance in every subject.

Campus Life

4

Life at the campus is really good. A large number of clubs and societies are here for social life. The infrastructure of this university is the main reason for its popularity. You'll regret it if you join here for college life. Many cultural events, Fests, and tech events are conducted here regularly. Talking about libraries and stuff, these are also good but the only demerit of libraries is they don't have AC and high-speed Wi-Fi.

Hostel Facilities

3

According to me, the hostel buildings are good and well maintained and get cleaned regularly. Also, the quality of the mess items is average but the menu is very well set. But a huge con of hostels is the timings of the duct. In April and May, they turn the Ducts on only 6 hours in a working day (4 hours at night and rest in the evening). I was living on the 9th floor and for me, survival was very difficult in these months, as you know the temperature of Chandigarh. According to me, you can take the hostel facility here but you must make room on the 5th, 6th or 7th floor.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
