Remarks

When I took admission in the college, we have to go through an entrance exam which was arranged by the University of Allahabad. But now, you have to appear in CUET, which is an entrance exam for all central universities. And this is a good thing, because before that exam mostly all central universities arrange their own entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course for subjects for BA is same as the course of UPSC. So, if you want to clear UPSC takes subjects wisely and if you study hard you can clear UPSC after graduating. But, in my college, all of the subjects are (mostly) studied in Hindi. And Hindi is kind of the main language.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 2500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are too low. And also, the UP government provide scholarship to students. The scholarship amount is always more than admission fees. And after admission, you don't have to submit a penny for anything. In short, the University of Allahabad and Allahabad Degree College is very affordable and pocket friendly.

Campus Life

Many fest and functions are arranged in the college. The library is good and you will get college-related books here. People are chill and there is nothing to worry about them. There is no social group, club, or website which is run by students or for students.

Great learning environment, experienced faculty, and value for money education.

Likes

The faculty members are very supportive, highly experienced, and always ready to help students with their queries.
The course fee is extremely affordable and provides great value for money for students in this region.
The campus has a peaceful learning environment with a good gender ratio of around 1:1 for boys and girls.

Dislikes

On-campus placement opportunities are limited, and students mostly need to look for off-campus jobs.
Campus infrastructure needs modernization, including better Wi-Fi access and updated lab equipment.
More practical exposure and industry-oriented training programs should be added to the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers all essential topics required for higher studies. The curriculum is detailed and helps build strong subject basics. Teaching methods are traditional, so adding more interactive sessions and skill-based learning would be a great improvement. Exams take place every semester along with internal class tests, which helps in continuous evaluation without extra stress

A Balanced Review of My College Journey

Likes

The college regularly organizes seminars, cultural events, and technical activities, helping students improve their confidence and skills.
The library, computer labs, and classrooms are well-maintained, providing a good environment for learning.
The teachers are experienced and explain concepts clearly. They are approachable and supportive whenever students need guidance.

Dislikes

Some practical sessions need better equipment and more hands-on training to match industry needs.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our College are decent. Students become eligible from the 5th/6th semester, and companies from media, PR, and digital marketing fields visit for recruitment. The placement cell also provides training, internships, and guidance. After graduation, I plan to explore both campus and off-campus opportunities in media and communication fields.

They give us lots of opportunities before summer vacations in terms of internship and after the final semester of exams they take our interview and give exact amount of opportunities and don't disappoint us

Likes

The faculty of the college is very supportive and understanding
The campus is also very nice you can easily find your comfort in that campus
Classrooms have unique facilities with smart board in every class and every class room is air conditioned

Dislikes

The first thing I don't like is the college food from canteen because it doesn't not have many options
The second thing I don't like is the sports facilities in the college because there are not every sports available specially football is not available
The third i don't like when the mobile network doesn't come in the college and we face a lot of problems for this

Placement Experience:

Let me talk about the placement of this college the placements and internship facilities of this college are very good for every student who are studying in this college the famous companies such as AVP news ,Aaj Tak , the truth 24 and various news channel comes for placement and internships almost each student gets placed

Amazing

Likes

I liked the safe enviornment of the college
All the teachers are very supportive and helpful
The concepts are easily understood by the students

Dislikes

The variety of the food can be more but its not so
There are many activities which can be restricted
No fixed timing od dispersal sometimes you have to be extra time

Likes

The fees is affordable in comparison to Delhi University.
The scholarship scheme is definitely helpful for those who are economically weak.
The main campus has a central library so its quite helpful

Dislikes

The books in the central library are quite outdated
The lack of infrastructure in the affiliated colleges of AU
No merit based scholarship scheme available for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm from humanities background so the course is quite relevant for me. The course is quite outdated however it's the same for most of the universities. the curriculum should be aligned with the competitive exams and the teaching methods should be more inclusive about the competitive exams so that the student can prepare well not only for the present course but also further upcoming exams.

I applied for University of the Delhi and fail to get into but I am quite satisfied with University of Allahabad because the level and the legacy of this University is if not par then it's also not lower than any other Central University of India and for my course all I needed to have time to prepare for CSE and pursue College at same time. Different colleges offer different environment ecology exposure these three E's are essential while choosing the college , so student should consider these 3 terms before getting admission for example a student who is not habitual to the environment of UP East may find the environment not suitable for Studies and vice-versa. Allahabad Degree College : A Dream or a Nightmare!

Before applying in ADC, I had applied to CMP, ISDC and the main campus itself. However, Since i was from science background and my transition to arts subject was totally a different decision. Then at last when I scored in my UGAT test, I got only ADC as my last option. The Hypocracy of this UGAT was that even below avg. fellows got main campus while I had to suffer just because of reservation. In fact if I were had been rejected from the other colleges on the base of academics it would have been less painfull rather than being rejected by reservation system.
