Remarks

Admission is on a merit basis. No entrance exam was conducted. Admission was done online mode and later documents were reviewed offline. Eligibility for B.com is 12th passed with more than 65%. No admission fees are collected by the college during the covid period.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty members are highly experienced in their field. College provides various courses for commerce students like B.com, M.com, BBA, and MBA. There are around 800 students in each batch of B.com. Semester examinations are conducted after every 6 months starting the semester.

Class Size: 800Course Fees: INR 10000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship programs are usually held in the college for the students. Companies from various places in India provide internship programs with stipends on an average of 15000. Projects are related to business and management.

Placement Experience

Students get good placement opportunities in companies like Wipro, tata, ongc, iocl, etc. Packages vary from 5 LPA to 8 LPA and sometimes even more. Around 40% of students get good placements. Some students are CA, and CS CMA aspirants.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I took admission during the covid period, no fees were collected from the students. Though the fee is around 5000 for each semester. Students can apply for scholarships also and students below the poverty line can avail fee waiver scheme.

Campus Life

My experience inside the campus was good. Students are friendly. There's a Library and a computer lab. The infrastructure is good. There's only one playground in the college. There's some club rum by students also.

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Present the documents along with photocopies after scoring the qualifying marks and post that the college authorities will give you an acknowledgment slip which confirms your admission in the college and can also be used as the College ID until you receive the actual college ID.

I applied to a lot of other colleges but those were all backup for me if I didn't get admission here . I applied in dispur college , kc das commerce college , guwahati college etc . We are admitted to colleges here using the samarth website. There are two merit lists provided by each college in the samarth website. I wasn't selected in the 1st merit list in gcc which ofcourse scared me a bit , but I got my names in the other previously mentioned colleges but I wanted to wait for the second merit list for which I had to hear a lot like what if I didn't even get my name on the second list of gcc . But I was sure I would get because my percentage was just 0.4% short from the cut off of the last merit list . I wanted this college because of emotional attachments + gcc has one of the best merits among all the commerce colleges in the entire northeast . Even this year in the toppers list published by gauhati university, 9 out of 10 students were from Gcc itself...Read More

I've applied to many other colleges in Guwahati city like KC DAS commerce College , Dispur College, but I have choosed this college at last, because this college is also known as the best college in the entire Northeast, so I have chooses this college.
