Remarks
The admission was on a merit basis and we can choose our subjects. Application forms, application fees, and application dates can be found on the college campus as well as on the official website of Gauhati commerce college. The college also provides Reservation Benefits for ST, SC, and OBC. My experience with the admission process was very good. It was simple and easy and was not complicated at all. I would recommend my peers and my juniors in this college as the teachers are really helpful if we approach them with our concerns and queries.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because was very interested in the subjects that were provided by the college such as stock marketing, income tax, and human resource management. I found the teaching method very satisfying. The teachers make sure that the students learn what's in the book as well as give us interesting knowledge outside the book. They motivate us to study and do well in our careers. Some teachers also give is some career counseling during the classes and I think this is very needed and helpful for many students. Exams are also held timely.
Internships Opportunities
I don't know about any good internships opportunities available with my college. I was contacted by one of the company but it was a paid one. Even then i took the opportunity as they gave me discount because i'm from Gauhati Commerce College. Honestly, i wasted my money on the training because my experience with the training was very bad. They told me that they provide recorded classes. They literally charged me 6k just for 5 recorded classes which was just 30min-1hr long. All that was taught was theory which we get to learn from schools and colleges. I got so pissed. Like, the college should look into these sort of internships who promises to provide internships in the name of GCC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees in our college are comparatively less than our college and I'm grateful for this because this opens doors for students to get an education who cannot afford to study in colleges with high fees. The scholarship that I got from this college was Umbrella Scholarship.
Campus Life
Maybe it's because of the Covid, we don't have many sports events. Being a sports person, my seniors asked me to participate in these events and I was looking forward to it before I took admission to this college but, in 3 years there was only 1 sports event. I am very disappointed because of this. There is a big library where can avail all the books.
