Remarks
This process is done through the JOSSA application. The applicants are selected based on JEE MAINS entrance exam. For the general category, the cut-off was around 18,000 rank (home state quota applied). For different branches the cut-off is different. The admission process is quite simple.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is taking change in EC as most of the students get placed in IT companies. For every 6 students, there is 1 professor. All the professors have their teaching methods. Some professors are quite serious about their subject and attendance(below 75% attendance they won't allow any students to sit in the End Sem exam.) but most of them are quite chill and very supportive. Exam difficulty depends on the faculty and the difficulty of the subject itself.
Internships Opportunities
There were several MNCs visited the campus for internships. MasterCard, MathWorks, JPMS, Ugam, Decimal Point Analysis, and many more. during 2022 JPMC hired 24 students from SVNIT as summer interns.(3rd-year students) Once got the internship you can expect a Direct placement offer from them.
Placement Experience
Placements in EC and Computer are very good. The average package in the computer branch is around 16 LPA. and in EC is around 13 LPA. the placements ratio in EC is 80-85 %. You can expect a 10 % hike in average salary every year. Companies that visited SVNIT are Microsoft, Synopsys, Infosys, MathWorks, Reliance, TCS, Incref, SanDisk, Oracle, D-Shaw, MasterCard, JPMC, Doutche bank, and many other MNCs that visited this year.
