Life at JSS science and technology University Mysore

I was admitted to the college through KCET. First, we have to give preference to the college and courses in that college. According to rank and reservation, they will allot one college and course. After allotment of the college, we have to take a printout of the allotment to acknowledgement which is available after the allotment on the kcet website. After that, we have to go to the allotted college with all the required documents. Then we have to submit documents for verification after paying fees ( it is different for aided and unaided allotment). I got a seat in an unaided allotment therefore I paid around 98000. After the payment of fees, we have to submit the payment slip. Then they will give the fee receipt and Student registration number. These are the process involved in admission. After that, they will conduct an induction programme. In the induction programme, all the students from different branches will be there. The induction programme will be conducted for up to 15 days. After that, we will get our usn to attend class.

I am interested in the computer science course but unfortunately for my set rank ( 6451), I didn't get a seat. Therefore I went with the electronics and Communication engineering course because there will be scope for both software and hardware field. Coming to facilities and faculty, our college has one of the best infrastructures in Mysore. And faculty are also good in a number. But when it comes to teaching our department has both the best and worst lectures. One of them is very good and the best in their field. But few of them simply give a speech about the lecture. In our college, we have 3 tests and 2 events, and one sem-end exam for each sem. The tests are conducted according to the calendar of events. There is no delay in that. The test difficulty is moderate ( not too easy and not too difficult). But events are a bit headache. Because we have to do 1 project for each subject therefore it's a bit of a problem compared to computer dept

Most of the students will get internship in company which they are placed in. The stipend differs from company to company. My friend got placed in infinera for 14lpa and got a intership of 6 months with stipend of 40000. Another friend placed in a Visteon company for 7lpa package got an internship of 6 months for a stipend of 25000 therefore it differs. In the worst case, some of the companies will not provide internships for all the placed students only some will get an opportunity. One of my friends got placed in mbrdi with other 47 students but only 15 students got internship opportunities others only get full-time opportunities. On the other hand, some companies will come only for an internship, and based on the performance they will decide whether to give full-time opportunity or not.

We have one of the best campus opportunities in Mysore. Most of the software companies will visit our campus. Core companies also visit our college. But compared to software companies the number is less. After completing the 6th sem students are eligible for placement but there should not be any backlogs. Some of the companies who visit our campus are jp Morgan, Mahindra, TCS, Robert Bosch, Mercedes Benz r and d, Visteon, Infinera, Infineon, Samsung, Daimler truck, etc. The avg package offered is around 8 to 10lpa. Most of the students are placed in one or the other companies. In our class only before starting the 7th sem around 80 percent of the students are placed in the companies. The highest package offered this year is 54lpa which is offered by Palo alto networks for the cyber security domain. Ultimately all will be placed for an average package of 8 to 10lpa. Coming to my plan after my degree is to learn industry-related works and to become an expert in an offered domain in the company.

When it comes to fees hike, every year there will be a hike of a minimum of 2000. But we have good and different scholarship opportunities. The first one is the State scholarship, all the candidates who have an income of fewer than 3 lakhs per annum can apply for this scholarship. With this scholarship, we will get our tuition fees. Which will be around 19000. The next scholarship is a national scholarship, all the candidates can apply for this scholarship but there will be some conditions these criteria are mentioned in the national scholarship portal. In this scholarship, we will get around 10000. These are the scholarship available. Other private scholarships are also available, but students need to check regularly and they need to apply personally. Now coming to campus our college's best campus opportunity. Now I am in 4th year. After the 6th sem exam, we got our placement opportunities and I got placed in Robert Bosch for a package of 16lpa as a cyber security engineer. In our class, 90 percent of the students are placed for10lpa

We have different clubs in our college and the best annual fest. Our college fest is famous in the entire Mysore and outside Mysore also. The name of the annual fest is JAYCIANA. JAYCIANA will be conducted for 3 days. It's a continuous 3 days fest, no class will be conducted during this. Lots of celebrities will come to this fest. Last will be a DJ night. This is about the annual fest. But there will be a lot of events and fest that are conducted by the club. We have clubs for everything. We have a dancing club named gravity, a singing club named Canada, a technical club called IEEE, We have a photo club called Photon. Like this more clubs are there. These clubs are run by students. When it comes to sports and extracurricular activities our college has opportunities for this also. We have a beautiful sports ground for all the sports. We have an indoor game also. We have a gym which is free for the students. And our college will conduct Intra and inter College sports activities every year conducted.
