Remarks

A student should have 10+2 with Physics as compulsory subject along with any two of the following subjects:- Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology / Mathematics with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. All the important deadlines are given on the official website of Chandigarh University. However, a student has to appear for an entrance CUCET which is mandatory for all students except those who scored 90% and above marks in the qualifying examination. Also, CUCET Is an entrance cum scholarship exam that give 100% off on tuition fee for whoever score 90-100 marks. The application form for the cucet is available on Chandigarh University's website and the fee is 1000 rupees. It is a private university so seats are allotted on a first come basis, however to get a seat one should clear the cucet exam. The admission process is very good. Staff guides at every point and in my case, everything went very smoothly.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am from a medical background so I took this course because it is relevant to my previous studies and one can make a good career in this field most importantly the pay rate is also good. The facilities at Chandigarh University are also good. All of them are highly trained in their field as well as all of them have a good educational qualification that mainly benefits students in their learning. The teaching methods of professors are also good. Theoretical and practical methods are used while teaching. There are minor exams during the semester and 2 times main exams during the year.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are a lot of companies that give jobs like Cipla, and many more and one of my seniors is doing an internship as an assistant in a laboratory. In the end, most of the students work in good companies after graduating from Chandigarh University and fewer section applies for MTech.

Placement Experience

4.5

I think from 2nd last semester one Should prepare for placements. Honestly speaking, I don't have enough knowledge regarding this aspect till now. I'm my course, last year highest package was 14 lakh per annum while the last one was around 4 lakh. Approximately 85-90% of students get good job offers with good pay. I will apply for MTech biotechnology in Germany after the completion of my course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for courses are quite expensive but is affordable. Every year fee structure gets revised and the fee gets raised .however, Chandigarh University provides a lot of scholarship that reduces the tuition fee to a good level. In my case, I got 50% off on the tuition fees due to my 91% marks in the 10+2 standard.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a lot of fest and functions that are held in Chandigarh University for the entertainment of students. The library is also good, all sorts of academic books are available easily and we can also rent them. Classrooms are well equipped with facilities like modern boards, projectors, and many more. Sports facilities are also available and any student can participate in sports tournaments that are organized within the campus. There are ample social groups such as the environment club, Tech club, and many more. And in this way, a student can enhance his skills.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
