Remarks

My course is a bachelor of engineering (Computer science and engineering). I found the application form for Chandigarh University on google. You find a lot of ads on your newsfeed of google, your YouTube channel, and so on. When I got admitted to this university then I had to rs 1000. Then there would be your online exam of 1 hour. All questions are MCQ. Time is limited. So, you have to speed up your problem-solving questions to score high marks. The syllabus of this exam is maths, physics, and chemistry. And yes, aptitude questions will also be there. You will get your result within 2 days. If you are not satisfied with your marks then you can apply for the exam one more time. At that time fee would be only rs 500 and all other things would be the same like the syllabus, time and so on. In CU, seats are not limited. The purpose of this university is more students will come, and more would get admitted. This is the thing I want to improve at this university. Thank you

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good by the way. In the first year all subjects that are not related to our course, they teach in the first years like workshop technology, Basic electrical and electronics, AutoCAD, biology, physics, and some other subjects. In the first year, most faculty are doing Ph.D. But in the second-year teachers are good and have completed pg. Their knowledge is also good. The method of teaching is from Ppt through a projector. The exam time is of 4 months (final exam). Not so difficult to pass this exam if you focus in class and have some revisions after class.

Internships Opportunities

The internship is also there for students, it gets to start from the 2nd year. If you make a project in Techathon, then your chances get increased to get an internship with a good stipend. Projects may be our common daily life problem and can also be in technology rural education system, AI-based projects, and so on.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible from the 6th semester. More than 700 companies visit for placement. Cisco, Google, TCS, Wipro, Servicenow, Mykaarma, Amazon, and many more companies. Each company provides different types of offers. Offers start from 3.5 lakhs to 60 lakhs. It depends on the student's skill and knowledge which offer they take. Companies come for Software development, networking, front-end development, and so on. The highest package of last year is rs 63 lakh and the average placement is of 5 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree are to get placed in a reputed company with the best package.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is good if I compare it to other colleges. In 2021, fees were 90000 per semester. It increases every year, in 2022 fees were increased by 10000 and it got 1 lakh per semester. The opportunity for a scholarship depends upon the marks that you score in the exam and also on your percentage marks on the 12th. The name of the scholarship exam was cucet. Financial assistance is good if you can't afford fees then you can easily get an education loan.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is good. There is no ragging in college. No need to call sir to your senior that is much better than in government colleges. Fest is regularly conducted in colleges like cu fest, aghaaz, and so on, they occur mainly in November, march. The books available in the library are good. There is a central library in the college that is huge and most books are available there. There are other libraries in the college. In the library, wifi is available. So, you can also study online. Sports regularly occur in college. NSS, NCC and so many other clubs are there that are run by students in a very good manner.

Hostel Facilities

In four seater room , two fans are there and one duct are connected . Tables and cupboard are there for each bed . balcony is there and other common facility are there . Meal is simple and good , their menu is also good . If i have to review it , then i will give 7.5 out of 10 . You have to register online for hostel registration and have to pay fully of hostel charge that is 1 lakh . You can also take rental flat that is availble in 1, 2 or 3 bhk and they are fully furnished flat . You have to contact from broker for rent .

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

Likes

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document.
