Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to pursue Btech so chose this course. There are mentors associated with 25 to 30 students for any help at any time. Teachers are 50-50 some are good, some are normal but what I felt is No one comes with the intention to waste time. They try to teach you whether you want to learn or not it's your choice.

Internships Opportunities

Students of Chandigarh University registered for internship in the 3rd year with Non-Objection Certificate (NOC). CSE students got internship opportunities in Companies like Solutions Inc., Anviam Solutions, Plus 91 Technologies, IIT Madras, AB Entertainment, etc. Chandigarh University has fully-equipped industry-sponsored labs, an industry-aligned curriculum, and accreditations and validations by top companies such as Microsoft, HPE, IBM, Oracle, Red Hat, etc., that help the student learn more about actual industrial demand.

Placement Experience

Placement is ok. Like it's a tier 3 college so you can't depend much on the college. you have to work hard on your own. 3rd-year students are eligible for campus placement. Amazon Microsoft IBM is some of the reputed companies visiting the campus regularly. Last year the highest package offered by IBM international was some 1 cr above claimed by the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is one lakh six thousand for each semester. Last year it was ninety thousand for a semester. The scholarship test happens in 2 phases. You can get 2 chances in a phase which will cost you around 1500 in a phase. You can even get scholarships up to 100% on tuition fees. Many of my friends got it also.

Campus Life

There are many activities that you can attend 2 3 within 2 months. Life on campus is chill but it depends you have to do a lot of worksheets, practicals, activities, assignments, etc. There are many club activities like cultural, NCC, drama, music, robotics, etc. The sports faculty is also nice but you can't accept much Like you can play any game at any time for fun. Basketball courts football courts badminton courts archery cricket ground kabbadi court are there also. There are many grounds on campus.

Hostel Facilities

There are mainly 2 types of rooms 4 seaters and 5 seaters. I am in 5-seaters and I feel 5 seater is much more comfortable in terms of space. Mess is OK ok we can't accept much. BTW breakfast is nice. You can apply for the hostel after you get a claims ID And password. If you wanted a pg then there are many available besides it or you can go to kharar which will cost you 40 rupees up and down traveling from college to bus stand by auto like its 5 to 7 km far.

Hostel Fee: INR 90000 per year

Admission

I have given the scholarship exam for entrance and got a 40% waiver on my tuition fee. The application fee is 1000 but you can get coupon codes from the voucher. The eligibility of the course is to have 60% in 12th grade. There is a scholarship for defense personnel's wards also.

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document.
