An honest analysis of Chandigarh University

I think Chandigarh University is good in terms of CSE as it provides a good environment in the technical field. They provide you with the opportunities and events to flourish your career in the IT sector. The faculty is quite supportive and knowledgeable but they will teach you from ppts and they will also resolve your doubts if you will ask them. Otherwise, you will be restricted to ppts but it will be enough for you to maintain a good cgpa. The students are quite high in numbers(7000 approx in CSE) but the batch size is 70 and there is one mentor of 35 students. Coming to the exams, the external exams are not much difficult i.e. you can score well if you have gone through ppts. To get the internals, you must submit all your worksheets, assignments, surprise tes, MSTs and quizzes. You will also get 2 marks extra in theory subjects on attendance above 90'% and you must satisfy 75% attendance to sit in exams.

In Cu, you will have to make a lot of projects which will help you to boost your CV. The internships and training will also start after the first year. There are various projects in which you will have to make projects as a burden.

In Cu, almost every student will get placed but the package varies according to the skills of a student. Still, I am not very much aware of placements the highest CTC in CU has gone above 1 CR and last year it was around 52 lakhs in CSE. The companies like TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS and IBM etc are the mass recruiters of Chandigarh University. The average package of an average student is around 5 lakhs/annum.

Basically, the fees of gen CSE is around 2,12,000 /annum but m90% of the students are able to avail of scholarships above 15%. You can give the exam for the scholarship CUCET online mode. But remember cheating is strictly prohibited in CUCET.So prepare well all the concepts of class 12th. If you will get 30 marks out of 100 then you will be able to get a scholarship. There is one more mode of scholarship i.e. on the basis of class 12th marks -If you get more than 90%, you will get 50%scolarship without giving any entrance exam. For continuation of the scholarship, you must get a 7.5 CGPA(mean of sgpa of first and second semester). There are also many other aids like-referral of the student, weaker sections, children of armed forces etc., for this you can visit their official website. The campus life of Cu is quite good as it has a big and beautiful campus. There are number of events and competions in which you can participate and enjoy your college life. You will get an opportunity to attend at least 2 events per month. But sometimes, you will not be aware of the contests as the circulation of message requires an ample amount of time on such a huge campus. Coming onto the libraries-each block in CU has its own library and there is also one central library with the number of boooks available. Acs are available in labs but not in classes, otherwise, there are good facilities in classes too such as projectors. Lifts are not available for students, only faculty and staff can use the lifts. You can also join the technical clubs and many different co-curricular clubs like dance, drama, fine arts, photography etc and you can participate in various inter-department contest which takes place almost once a month.
