Likes
- The infrastructure. When i first came to SRM AP, i was blown away by this beautiful campus. The whole campus is beautifully built & neatly kept.
- The diversity. Students from all over India and abroad can be found in SRM AP and it really creats a exposure for the students to different cultures and practises and helps to mingle with people.
- The faculties. They are extremely qualified. Most of them had done their PhDs in IITs or abroad and is proficient in their fields.
Dislikes
- The mess food. Needs improvement. Also the water quality.
- Location. College is located in a remote area and is very difficult (and expensive) for frequent travels, especially for non resident students.
- As the college is still in its devoloping stages, its often noisy and dusty.
Course Curriculum Overview
Provides a very balanced and integrated curriculum for b-tech. There will be a faculty assigned to every 10 students. Most of the professors at SRMAP have done their post-graduation outside India or at IITs. Classes are very informative and interactive. Timely assessments, tests & assignments are conducted to ensure that no student is lagging behind in any concept. The assignments are mostly complex problems while the mid and the end term are comparatively easier.
Internships Opportunities
No experience in this field yet. Internships are mandatory for students from the third year. Students can choose to do an early internship if they wish, but it requires a particular skill set and high knowledge of the matter.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester Over 800 companies visit SRM AP. Some of the major ones are Amazon, Infosys, TCS, IBM, etc. Over 500 offers are made per year. The highest package so far was 50LPA for an average of 9.9LPA for B-tech graduates. Up to the previous year 100% of students were placed in campus interviews. I plan to work in one of the best technology companies in India after B-tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are comparatively more here, for an engineering course. Tuition and hostel fees can be from 2-4 LPA. I got a 50% tuition scholarship for my rank in SRMJEE. There are also a lot of internship opportunities for 3rd year and 4th-year students. With a good CGPA and skills, you can easily land a job with an 8-10 LPA.
Campus Life
Campus life is really good. I was mesmerized the 1st time I saw this college. It's really beautiful. The infrastructure is also very good. There are a variety of clubs that allow students to pursue their interests. The fests here are the best. We had 2 fests for the 1st semester. It was the best. We even had an Armaan Maalik concert at these. The college library provides a calm and secure environment for students. There are a variety of books of all genres including curricular and co-curricular books.
Admission
For Btech courses, applicants should have completed class 12th with at least 60%. My admission to SRM AP University was through the SRMJEE Entrance exam. You can apply for the SRMJEE examination by registering in the SRMAP portal. Students who secure high ranks in SRMJEE are eligible for various scholarships(25%, 50%, 90%, or 100%) Other scholarships and reservations are based on various govt. schemes are also available.
