Course Curriculum Overview
My course was Information security. The main reason for choosing this course is I have an interest in this course. Chandigarh University has good faculty: student ratio. Most of the faculty qualification is Ph.D. It totally depends on your interest in faculty teaching. In semester 2 tests and 1 final exam. The gap between the 2 tests is 30-40 days. I think it is not as easy or as hard to write the final exam. Just you've to touch every concept and practice problems related to the concept.
Internships Opportunities
You can get internships in renowned companies with a good stipend. Coming to the project, from 2nd year we have a special subject minor project, where you have to do a project related to your interests. You can do anything like product-based or research paper based. If you want to write a research paper, you will get more support from the faculty. You can publish your papers in international journals.
Placement Experience
For BTech student placements drives starts from 3rd year's end. More than 1000 companies visit the university. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, etc visit the university. The average salary was 8 LPA. The highest salary was 54LPA national and 1.7 cr international package. More than 90% of students got offers in university drives. My plan is to do a job for one year and a master's at a foreign university.
Fees and Financial Aid
It costs around 2.1 lakh per year but due to cucet scholarship by the university, I secured a 50% scholarship. Now, my fee was 1.05 lakh. In every semester CGPA should be above 7.5. We can apply for student loans if we can't afford college fees, and universities support us by giving required documents timely.
Campus Life
In every semester, there is one cultural fest, freshers day, in this fest notable cine actors come to the event. DJ events and fashion walks conducted are compulsory. The college environment is so friendly because you can see students from different states and countries. Being a South Indian, I never found difficulty in teaching or culture. There is an event conducted for South Indians i. e dravidian fest. There is a central Library, where you can get required books related to academics. Present Library is not meeting requirements so a new library is coming to action in 2023. You can participate in any sport or extra circular activity according to your interests. There is a special subject general proficiency course you can select any online course or any extra circular activity. There are a lot of language, cultural, and hacking clubs.
Admission
The admission procedure is so easy compared to other universities. We have to write cucet exam. According to cucet score, we will get the scholarship amount. I got 83 marks, so I secured a 50% scholarship. Criteria to continue scholarship is Above 7.5 cgpa in every sem.
