Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is a difficult one but the faculties are chill and helpful. Most of them will treat you like a friend and will help you out. The other expenses will increase as you come to 3rd year which will include printing costs and other stationary stuff.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you come from a merit CET seat, it will cost you 85,500 a year as college fees. The fees for management changes for Kerala students and Karnataka students. Management seats range from 1.35 L to 2.0 L..

Campus Life

3.5

As a student of architecture, you get to interact and learn to the fullest. Compared to the whole campus, the Department of Architecture has good greenery around it. An annual fest called Architomies is conducted exclusively by the Department of architecture. Apart from that you get to participate in other fests conducted by the Department of engineering.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel is not that great! For the first year, you have to pay 42,000 and then from the second year onwards, it's going to be 38,500 for 3 sharing. Mess bill has to be paid separately every month which is 2,600 per month. The food is not worth paying so much for. You don't get snacks in the evening. It's just tea coffee and milk. There will be chapati every night except for 2 days a week.

Admission

You can apply through the NATA score. During 2018 JEE paper 2 was also considered as eligible criteria for admission to B.Arch. For the general category cut-off range was below 1000 rank (state rank). The cut-off defers with category. You need to get your AIR ranking converted to state ranking and then apply for the college to be eligible.

Admission:

The admission procedure is not tedious. After plus 2 and appearing for JEE 2 or NATA exams, candidates have to apply with that scores. After screening they will be called for interview. For validation purposes, all the original certificates will be scrutinized.

This is a very good College in terms of education and co-curricular activities. The events hosted in the College and the workshops are almost always paid for so it is hard if you don't have pocket money with you always.

Admission:

I applied to the college based on my score in the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). I also appeared in the JEE Main paper 2. However, the NATA score been good then JEE Main paper 2 so I said for the NATA counselling. I was allotted a seat in the institute in spot counselling. After the grant of the admission I was called to the campus to complete the procedural formalities for admission. I opted for the institute because it is one of the top institute for architecture studies in Mysore.

Remarks:

The Architectural education scene is still a work in progress, and the quality changes dramatically in a short period of time and hence the relevancy of my remarks here are questionable., Management has changed recently, the University of Mysore has taken over, and it brings bigger resources, better integration with other university facilities and it's government-like administration with it's pros and cons. It would be wise to personally visit the facilty.
