Vivekananda College of Arts, Science & Commerce Puttur, BCA

Remarks

The college stands at an average. The campus experience is good considering the life in the hostel. The college has been good except the fact that there is a lingual explosion in this college. Even though being a college of lingual multiple backgrounds the language the institution follows is Kannada. That is the only backdrop of this college.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam was held for the admission. Landing here was a suggestion from relatives which u repent . No interview was held . Choosing my course was a hard job . Being a student from science background pursuing BCA is something not ordinary but I like my course .

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is good but considering the language of teaching it's quite hard to cope up.

Internships Opportunities

No our college provides no internship . There is no such thing as an internship in our college . We have an opportunity to work outside during our final semester examinations that's all we get .

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement scenario is quite bad as I said about teaching is in kannada collaborated with English this decreased the fluency of English in all.

College Events

Our college facilitates a huge number of students and follows a peaceful and a cultural heritage hence all the cultural festivals are very colourful .

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's quite affordable comparing other institutions.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships for students who pass with very good marks . Considering the competition it's quite hard to get one .

Campus Life

There is no encouragement for extra curricular . Though we get opportunity only through NCC.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes I'm a hostellite A room is occupied by 3 students .I pay a total sum of 70000 per annum. The food is veg and not good

Alumni/Alumna

There is not at all interaction with the alumni.

Exam Structure

Nothing like that . Labs are not quite frequent . It's a chill culture as you say .

Faculty

The faculty is very experienced . They are very good resource persons .

Overall a great experience

Likes

Supportive and knowledgeable faculty members
Industry oriented curriculum with practical learning opportunities.
Modern infrastructure including well equipped labs.

Dislikes

The placement services could be improved by bringing in wider variety of core companies
Campy wifi is slow and cuts out quite often.
Administrative processes are slow and take too long.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from 6th or 7th sem onwards. Several major tech and service companies visit the campus every year, making multiple job offers, my personal plan is to pursue masters.

ABBS is cut over rest!!

Likes

ABBS means Professionalism and therefore students have to follow the strict uniform code as assigned by our college.
No entry without icard and it has to be around our collar whole we are in college.
Cameras are everywhere and therefore no blind spot and this ensures complete security.

Dislikes

Uniform colour is very poor as it looks like colour of postman uniform.

Placement Experience:

Oracle, Genpact, Amazon and you can name any name which you know in technology and they were at ABBS. Junior software developer roles were the primary roles offered to BCA students and placements worth 4-6 lakhs were offered to us.

Not up to date syllabus to the current market
