Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is more on the theory side and less on practical subjects. As the course is BE not B. Tech, you will get 60% theory subjects and only 40% practical subjects. There is 1 teacher for about 18 students and it is a good ratio in a big university like CU. Teachers are highly qualified and always available for helping the students. They always prefer interacting with students. Even HODs also keep check of each class on a regular basis.

Class Size: 72Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are the main focus of management. From the beginning of the 6th semester, students start getting on-campus internships. You can also apply for off-campus internships but it should be in a recognised company. The research paper should be published by every student as we have IEEE and CSI student branches on our campus for assistance.

Placement Experience

The CRC team is very hard-working and always tries to bring the best companies to the campus for recruitment. The placement percentage for the 2023 passing batch is 73% and the highest placement is 54 LPA. All tech giants come to the campus like Amazon for SDE, Google for SDE and research analyst, Nutanix for cloud computing, and grow for test engineer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are to be submitted every semester along with exam fees. My fees are 80000 per semester for college and 2000 exam fees. Scholarships are availed based on CUCET score, Jee Main rank, and also on the basis of class 12th marks.

Campus Life

Campus life is very exploring and amazing at CU. Lush green campus with so much to see. Fountain area, food outlets like FR, Samosa Express, and many more. The library is open from morning 9:30 till 10 PM at night. The sports complex is there with facilities for all the different sports like football, kabaddi, badminton, chess, etc.

Hostel Facilities

I live in a 5 seater room and my fees are 81000 per year. You can also opt for 4 seater and fees vary. AC and Non AC rooms are available. Bed, Almirah, Table, Chair, Cloth Hanger is provided in the room. According to me, 5 seater rooms are more spacious than the 4 seater. Mess food is hygienic but it lacks in taste.

Hostel Fee: INR 81000 per year

Admission

Taking admission to CU is very easy. You should have a 60% score in class 12th to take admitted to any course. For taking a scholarship one can appear in the CUCET exam and get up to 100% scholarship. The application can be done from CU's official website and the form fee is Rs 1000. Reservation benefits are not there.

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

I gave cucet but can't find the college that have cse in their colleges. That time my father was recently posted in chandigarh as chandigarh university was very close to me and the transport is also easy and I don't have to pay the hostel fees and I can be a day scholar also so I choosed this college as it provide a good network of peoples. The admission process was to simple ,I just applied for their entrance online exam cucet and booked a slot gave online test of 100 mcq from the selected domain and after that I got scholarship and to confirm my seat I have to pay 10000 part of my semester fees (that 10000 was from my semester fees) and after doing online formalities and upload document.
