What Students Say
Likes
- The first thing I liked about the college is huge diversity including foreigners students and maany students from the far part of the college
- The next thing I liked is about CU is organising many frst and college functions and celebrating festivals.
Dislikes
- The maximum numbers of faculty are not helping students and also they are very rude to the students.
- The university in a village area so finding rooms nearby are very difficult for the students to get room
Course Curriculum Overview
I have an interest in computer science engineering so I choose this course. The faculty-student ratio is normal, not so good the ratio of faculty-student is about 30:1. The qualification of the faculty is not so good, some of the teachers are highly qualified but some of them are students who are teaching and studying alone but not having good teaching skills. There were two mid-term and a final term exam, which are not very difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Major companies which provide internships with stipends in the university are Wipro and tata consultancies, Hcl. These companies take huge numbers of students with low salary packages. These companies first do the written test some of them also do Gp and personal interviews are common among all of them.
Placement Experience
From the sixth semester onward the placements started for engineering but there is too much competition among the students, there are many companies including big companies like azon, Wipro, tata etc. There are huge numbers of companies that come to college for the placement. I think the percentage of students getting the placement is about 60%. My plans after getting the degree are to go abroad or do my Mtech but from another college.
Fees and Financial Aid
CU provides an average-cost education, just like iam doing CSE the fees for one semester are about 110000. They also provide scholarships through an exam name CUCET. They also provide financial assistant to the student which are either SC or ST or OBC or the resident of Punjab.
Campus Life
Campus Life at Chandigarh University is excellent. The university provides a huge variety of students from a variety of countries and states. Also, the university organises many fests and extracurricular activities. The are many libraries in all blocks of the buildings and the availability of books is good. Also, the sports activities organised by the university are very good. In classes, you have to select a gp course in which you can include all sports activities. There are many groups and websites run by students like progiez, which help many students in their campus Life and reading journey in the university these are the websites run by the college seniors made for freshers to help them
Admission
There is only one eligibility i.e. there must be 60% numbers in your +2 board for getting computer science engineering. There is only one application form that is compulsory for getting a scholarship, the exam name is CUCET. The improvement I want to see in the registration process is that they can provide scholarships through the online exam which is not as fair itself.
Other Applied Colleges
Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Because of the more fees
