Remarks

Not the master of all experiences but definitely the jack of many. The scenic beauty coupled with the seclusion of the campus from the main city would prepare you for the rest of your life. You can crib about the remoteness of the place, the food, the faculty and plethora of other things. But mark my words, you will find the bestest of bonds budding here, bestest of life experiences blooming here and the firsts of all out-of-home experiences. Friends will become your second family here and the for-granted-taken home-sweet-home will have a whole new meaning and definition in your life. You'll definitely miss college days once you are out. Many would say the fault in their stars landed them in JUET, but I would say, without faults there are not stars. Period.

Entrance Preview

Admission was through AIEEE counseling. Having chosen comp sci. for under-grad exams, was interested in choosing the same for graduation as well. Jaypee had a good brand name so ended up here. So basically if your rank cannot get u into IITs/NITs. Jaypee colleges are worth considering.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum was balanced with higher maths, economics, physics, environmental studies, and bussiness concepts apart from your core subjects. The focus on practical learning was not that great. Research related initiative would only come for final year project purpose and that also depends on your surpervising guide's interest. You would get many options to elect subjects. In computer science branch, we had elective between machine learning/ Data mining, to name a few. Also in business related subjects, there would be electives starting from 2nd or 3rd year.

Internships Opportunities

No. At the end of 3rd year individuals have to undergo 45 days of compulsary organization training. Stipend would depend whether one attended paid or unpaid internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

For batch 2011-15, the placements were pretty good. We had three mass recruiters- infosys, cognizant and wipro. Many companies like SAP labs, pine labs, Amazon also visited.

College Events

3

One cultural fest i.e dequinox and techical fest i.e dextra and many other branch specific fests were organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Quite affordable deemed University. Though the fee structure keeps on changing every two years. For b.tech during my time (2011-2015) the fee structure per sem was as follows: Tution fee: 60,000 approx. Development fee: 32,000 approx. Hostel fee: 50,000 approx Caution money: 10,000 (to-be deposited once during admission)

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes. Hostel room had a combination of single, double sharing, triple sharing, quadraple sharing. Although many didn't like the food. I liked it because it was nutritionally healthy n the place where it was cooked was seemingly hygenic. Although boy's didn't have a good experience with the food particularly machine-made rotis. Ours was handmade.

Exam Structure

Though some faculties would pester you for good grades, but then that's there everywhere. Though mid-sem n end-sem exams were hectic and tedious as they hardly provided any breaks in between. One of the pros is that you get over with exams really quick. But cons would include mugging up contents w/o understanding, going under-prepared and also not to ignore the physically & mentally exhaustion one has to go through.Over-all okayish.

Faculty

3

Though faculties were qualified. But then qualification alone does not make anyone a good professor anyday. So few greatly lacked practical knowledge and would end up making fun of students to cover the ignorance up. But then I would again say that's there everywhere. Even faced similar situations in school as well. The more we crib, the more worse it gets. Better option is to do self study and turn your heads to online sources if you really want to learn.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.

Placement Experience:

Placements in college are quite good if we compare them with other similar state government engineering colleges. It has a separate TPO (training and placement office) cell which helps students in their placements. Some quite good companies like TCS and Wipro visit the campus for placements. Around 40% of students get placed every year. The highest being 11 LPA. Core competencies the lowest 3.5 LPA salary offered in IT sector companies. Reliance, LNT, Infosys were the top recruiters. Every year students go for internships in BHEL NTPC etc. Companies ( around 30%) Other 70% students go for local transmission plant as the internship is compulsory for everyone. Students organize cultural activities.

In my point of view If you can afford good fee you should never even think of this college. The college is only for local students or the students those do not have a good score and wants a college with no donation and students having strong will power that they will not mix up with the local students can go for the admission.
