What Students Say

Likes

Ragging is strictly prohibited in the campus.
The campus is full of greenery and positivity.
There are alot of courses to study as per your interests.

Dislikes

Faculty is inexperienced, that should be improved.
75% attendance criteria is such a trash rule.
The management is too rude and arrogant towards students.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose this course because of my interest in this field and the high demand for software engineers in the country. The faculty-student ratio is pretty good in the university. They are inexperienced but really cooperative, they make you understand topics with ease. Exams are conducted after every month be it tests or final exams you got less time to upskill yourself.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 144000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is pretty high but the scholarship helps with it. The name of the scholarship exam is CUCET. The university makes you do some internships during holidays. They are usually unpaid but you can apply for paid internships outside too.

Campus Life

3.5

There are fests every other month at Chandigarh University so you don't need to worry about enjoyment and all. The library is open for borrowing and reading books all the time. Classrooms are pretty basic. The sports culture is nice too, University students win a lot of trophies, and Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh is also a student of CU. There are a lot of clubs to join if you like to in the university as per your interests.

Admission

Eligibility of the course BE CSE in Chandigarh University is that you should have 50% or more than that in 12th Standard, Students can also apply for a scholarship if 80% and above. But the most important exam that is mandatory for all is the CUCET exam conducted by the University for which we have to pay 1000rs, it is a scholarship exam which provides you with a scholarship and exempts you from the tuition fees a lot. The CUCET exam is of 100 marks a candidate should score at least 30 to get eligible and to avail scholarship too. The University also offers 100% scholarships to students scoring full marks on the test. JEE percentile is also a way to get admission to the university. You can find the CUCET registration form on the university's website and apply if you want to join. The improvement I'd like to see is the CUCET exam should be of 3 hours instead of 2 hours as it takes time to solve maths and physics.

Likes

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

Likes

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
