What Students Say

Likes

I really like the placements here as there are many opportunities available for hardworking students.
I really like the fest culture here which ease the mind of students.
The campus is really nice with almost everything available here.

Dislikes

The hostel restrictions i dont like as a girl.
Sometimes the food is really spicy in hostel and can't eat healthy for a long time.
overall its good.. i just like everything beside this.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the course because it is in demand and faculty to student ratio is nice but not very good. The qualification of the faculty is nice. and the exam paper level is quite moderate to high and the consistency is nice.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 190000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The companies that offered the internships till now are Accenture: not been disclosed yet, Affynsis: 20K, ZS Associates: 22K, and Playsimple: 35 K. And companies are providing stipends up to 50 K depending on company to company. Some of the projects I have done till now are ATM machines in C++: just a normal not so advanced project doing calculations in the file system. Online crime management and services: a website Online secure text transfer using a cloud: The text was encrypted and decrypted using API.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 5th semester you are eligible for the placements and the companies visiting are Google Microsoft and others too with a really good package. Recently playsimple came and offered a package of 17 lakhs. the average package is around 4 lakhs and more than 80% of students are getting placed. And I hope to get a pre-placement offer from the university after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike is approximately 10000rs per year which is quite not affordable for everyone and people can get the scholarship after taking a cut exam and get up to 100% scholarships and Internships are nice so you can get stipends accordingly.

Campus Life

4.5

Annual fests happen regularly and hackathons are a very important part of the university which also happen regularly including IEEE. Any student can borrow books from the library using their library card from abundant books on each topic from philosophy to coding languages The practical labs are equipped with the hardware with the proper software installed in them for practicals and here people or you can say students make clubs like Ladybug.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostess is good with nice food but spicy too but overall people with different tastes can enjoy the food without any problem. They take allergies seriously and overall it's good. Can't say really nutritious but overall good. Registration for a hostel is done through their website. And we can't say that the hostel is really affordable at all. And there are restrictions.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

Eligibility: minimum 60% cutoff. Everything about the admission-related details can be found on the official website of CU. Reservation no. any improvements I want to see the current system is nice but I would like to get the full information about the leet courses before committing.

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
