Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was interested in coding and computers. So that is why I joined this course. Faculty and student ratio I will say is OK to good. If there is any faculty absent, then the substitute teacher would come and then after asking the students which topic are studying, they will teach accordingly. Faculty members are quite experienced. You will also see many faculty members at their young age which is about 25+ years. The teaching method is also good. There is a library management system that includes all the PPTs and online book links where you can study from them. There are 2 term exams and one final exam tough questions are asked. The difficulty level of the exam is always moderate be it MST or final exam. During the whole semester, 2 lab tests are also taken for practical subjects and their evaluation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is usually based on the CUCET exam which is basically an entrance-level test hosted by Chandigarh University. Based on how well you score on the CUCET test, you will get a scholarship accordingly. Fees structure is different for different domains but it is not so high. Average Fees for all domains per semester are between 1 to 1.5 lakhs and if you score well in the CUCET exam, you can get even a 100% scholarship which is maintained if you get a CGPA of above or equal to 7.5. I am in 2nd year, so I am not eligible for campus placements. But what I have came to know on that you have to get a CGPA of at least 7.5 to sit in the placement drives.
Campus Life
The campus life is best in Chandigarh University. Almost every month, extra curricular and co-curricular events occur which will improve your personality. Along with that, Freshers party, Induction, Orientation etc. and many more events are also there in which you will never feel bored. Many famous actors amd singers be it Bollywood, Hollywood, or South actors also come for their upcoming film promotions. There are many blocks in this university and in every block, there is a library that is as big as a park. Along with that, there are many clubs and groups to join like acting, dancing, games and many social groups which raise awareness among the youth.
Admission
The admission process was not as hard as I expected it to be. Firstly, the eligibility for the course I opted for Computer Science and Engineering was to get a minimum of 75% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. As I got an overall percentage of 88.8 in 12th standard, I easily got eligible for this course. You also have to take the CUCET exam which is basically the entrance test for admission to Chandigarh University. I scored quite well and got a 15% scholarship from that exam. Its syllabus only includes 11th and 12th subjects. To find the application form, application dates and everything related to it, you can go to the official website of Chandigarh University and all the information regarding the admission you will get. I am in a general category, so I do not get any reservation benefits. The improvement I want to see in the admission process is that the cut-off should be a bit high.
