Remarks

College management is not up to the mark. They are generally ignorant to the students but this situation is changing under the guidance of our new VC.

Entrance Preview

I took jee mains examination, didn't performed well in it and then i apply for GNDU. As it is a government institution and quite reputed in Punjab hence i choose this.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is not up to the mark. They still teach with the old methodology. And practical learning is not offered here greatly. I you want to explore your area of interest then you need to do it yourself. Sometimes you also have to manage the regular college routine to explore.

Internships Opportunities

Generally internships are not provided by the college . You need to apply for it yourself . However some companies conduct examination for the internships in the university.

Placement Experience

3

Placement opportunity is quite average here .the placement of btech CS branch is generally around 90 percent and 78 percent that of electronics. As far as placement package is considered it is generally 3.5 lakh per anum . And some students also bags a package of 4 to 6 lakh package in reputed companies . Some recruiters are TCS , naggaro , infosys etc

College Events

3

GNDU conducts many technical and cultural fest. One of the biggest cultural fest in north india youth festival is conducted here around november . Many departments also conducts their fest and special events independently and frequently . Engineering departments also conducts their technical fest

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of engineering course is around 1 lakh which is feasible. And other departments like bsc physics and science have quite low fees here. The hostel charges are very low compared to other universities. It can be said that fee structure of this university is affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes college offers scholarships for the students who are good in studies and are financially weak . All you need to do is to fill up the form and then give the interview for scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio here is not low it is 1:2 overall and in engineering it 1:4 . Generally you will find students from the punjab state but some students from states like bihar ,UP, haryana ,delhi, himachal also studies here. Which makes it little bit diverse but the majority is from punjab. Sports meet and some special events are frequent here .

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms of freshers are very spacious but due to the accommodation of four students in a room meant for three makes it less spacious. And the hostel for second year onwards are not spacious as they are meant for one but generally two students are accommodated . Mess food is average not very bad and not very good.

Alumni/Alumna

As this university is old hence it has a wide network of alumni working in different kind of fields . But engineering department does not have a wide network of alumni. Seniors are very helpful and friendly here.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is quite easy here. In a semester they conduct 3 theory examinations First two are minors which are of 20 marks each and the end semester examination which is of 50 marks. Hence allows the student to score good marks. Overall we can say that exams and practicals are quite frequent here.

Admission

I got admitted through GNDU counselling on the basis of rank in JEE mains. To apply for counselling you need to apply online on the site of GNDU. Generally around may. Anybody with a JEE rank below 2lakh can get admission here quite easily. And if you are from punjab domicile then 4 lakh also works.

Faculty

2.5

This varies faculty to faculty. Some teachers are able to teach quite well and they have got the required skills too. But some teachers are really annoying they just want you to mug up the things and then vomit in the examination. However you can go to the faculty room if you stuck with any problem or doubt

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
