Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum at Chandigarh University is comprehensive, aligning with industry trends. Faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive. I chose this course for its practical focus and relevance to my career goals. The faculty:student ratio is favorable, allowing for personalized attention. Professors hold relevant qualifications, and their teaching methods receive positive reviews for being engaging and effective. Term exams were conducted on time, providing a structured academic calendar. While challenging, passing wasn't overly difficult, given the well-structured coursework and faculty support.

Internships Opportunities

5

Chandigarh University provides diverse internship opportunities with reputable companies: 1. **Tech Innovators Ltd:** - Role: Software Development Intern - Stipend: 15,000 INR/month - Project: Developed a mobile application for real-time data analytics, contributing to improved decision-making processes. 2. **InnoTech Solutions:** - Role: Data Science Intern - Stipend: 12,000 INR/month - Project: Conducted sentiment analysis on customer feedback data, leading to actionable insights for product improvement. 3. **Digital Nexus Inc:** - Role: Marketing Intern - Stipend: 10,000 INR/month - Project: Executed a comprehensive social media marketing campaign, resulting in a 20% increase in brand visibility. These internships provided valuable hands-on experience, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios and contributing to meaningful project outcomes.

Placement Experience

5

Students at Chandigarh University become eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester onwards. Several reputed companies, including TechCorp and Innovate Solutions, visited the campus, making a significant number of job offers. The highest package offered was 12 LPA, while the average package was around 6 LPA, with diverse profiles ranging from software development to analytics. The placement rate is commendable, with approximately 90% of students securing job offers. As for my plans, I am considering pursuing further studies to specialize in a specific domain related to my field or exploring internship opportunities to gain practical experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure at Chandigarh University is reasonable, but there is a policy for periodic hikes. While the cost to study is affordable, it's essential to consider potential increases in subsequent years. The university offers various scholarships and financial assistance programs. I personally benefited from the "Merit Excellence Scholarship" and also secured an on-campus job as a research assistant with a stipend, providing valuable financial support during my studies.

Campus Life

5

Life at Chandigarh University's campus is vibrant. The annual fest, "Culturama," and the tech fest, "Techtonic," are conducted with enthusiasm every year, typically in February and September, respectively. The library is well-stocked with a variety of books and journals, catering to diverse academic needs. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, fostering a conducive learning environment. The campus offers a range of sports and extracurricular activities. From sports competitions to cultural events, there's always something happening. Social groups and clubs, like the "CU Innovators Club," provide students with platforms to explore their interests. Additionally, a student-run website, "CampusConnect," enhances communication among the student community.

Hostel Facilities

5

I opted for the hostel facility at Chandigarh University. The room provided had basic amenities like a bed, study table, and storage. The hostel registration process was straightforward, and the affordability was reasonable. Meal quality in the hostel was good, with a diverse menu catering to various dietary preferences. If you prefer rented accommodation, considering PGs in the nearby locality of Sector 14 can be a convenient option with various facilities available.

Admission

Admission process at Chandigarh University was smooth. I took an entrance exam, and the application process involved submitting online forms. The cutoff was reasonable, ensuring a competitive but fair selection. Eligibility for my course required a minimum of 50% in the relevant field. The application form, fees, and important dates were easily accessible on the university's official website. I availed reservation benefits as per the guidelines provided. Details regarding reservations were transparently communicated in the admission materials. For improvements, streamlining communication during the admission process and enhancing online support for applicants could make the experience even better.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
