Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course that I have selected is BE- BTECH this is a very renowned course these days as many of students opt for this course. My university provides so many opportunities related to this course. I have selected this course because this course gives a vast amount of job opportunities as well as for further studies, this course acts as a basic qualification and helps in post graduation which may be in- MBA, MTECH, B.ED. Chandigarh university goes for the best faculty for students - with high qualifications and standards. Faculty members teaching here are mostly qualified in best colleges. All of the teachers as well as students speaks in english during working hours and each faculty have a respectful remark on their own. Faculty student ratio- each class of 72 students have 1 teacher for each subject. Exams are held almost every 15 days. In a semester of almost 4 months, 2 months are there for exams only- MST-1, MST-2, MSP-1, MSP-2, then end sem exams with practicals.

Placement Experience

4

Almost every student of Chandigarh university having a good cgpa, attendance, and a better knowledge related to their subject easily gets placements as soon as they complete their degree. Almost 80-90% of students get the placements easily but the salary vary from person to person. Average salary ranges from 5-lpa to 8-lpa. My plan after getting degree is that I want to go for bank-po if I could clear it, I can have a very good job in bank. Or maybe I will go for masters in business application. Else job placement of BE-BTECH are also a good opportunity.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure of chandigarh university is somewhat a highly rated structure. This is because cu is a private university and NAAC A+ approved. Almost every course takes a different fees structure which can be checked on original site of cu on any browser about my course BE - BTECH , the fee structure is 1,20,000 per semester. And scholarship options are better given before semester begins. According to CUCET exam- 30% scholarship is given if a student score 60 marks and above 90 marks, 100% scholarship is given. Financial assistance is also provided by my university for that you have to talk to the officers personally. Job offers and internship offers are easily available.

Campus Life

5

Many social groups, clubs and websites are run by students of my university. Clubs like- M-FIELD Club- M-Field club deals basically with mathematics. The main objective of the club is to build a positive attitude towards the learning of mathematics and an appreciation of the aesthetic nature and cultural aspects of mathematics and to use mathematics to formulate and solve problems in daily life as well as in mathematical contexts and other disciplines. Activities occurring in this club are- 1. Rubik's Cube 2.Triky Mathematics 3. Geometry Hunt 4. Quiz Competition Another are - UDAAN CLUB ENVIRO CLUB TECH PATH FINDER TECH OCEAN CLUB And many other clubs are there. Society run by students of cu are- SOCIETY OF APPLIED SCIENCES Activities occurring in this society are- 1. National  Science Day 2. Sci Tech --2015  ( Quiz competition related to science technology)

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facility is good. But it is somewhat expensive as compared to any rented accommodation outside the campus. For hostels- facilities provided are- 3/4 bed A chair A table Mattress is not provided. About mess and meal quality- mostly good but sometimes it's not less than poison. It's difficult for vegetarians to accept meal in the same utensils and same place. Somehow the halls of dinner are different for vegetarian and non vegetarians on the day when non veg is prepared. It's 2 days a week for non vegetarian. Registration for hostel is online only. On official site, hostel allocation you have to pay fees online only! Affordability is all upon one's pocket so, it vary person to person. For pg or room , it is easily available near around the university many pg's and flats are easily available.

Admission

Admission process for chandigarh university is a very easy and satisfactory process which is fair enough for students as well as the faculty. Here, we have to give online exam named - CUCET (chandigarh university common entrance test) this is all based upon our previous studies . This exam is neither very easy nor very hard and depends upon how we have studied our previous year exams. To find out the application for for CUCET you need to find for chandigarh university entrance test on any of the renowned browser wherever yoh feel comfortable and enter your details. You will receive a call from one of the university faculty and you will be guided properly. Application fees is 800 rupees for general category student. Application dates are given to you according to when you have entered details. Reservation benefits are availed accordingly 5% seats are reserved. Yes, improvements can be made like - cucet should be made an offline exam. Scholarship process should also be improved.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
