Course Curriculum Overview

2

I was an ambitious student for computer since the first day of my academics. That's the reason for choosing be cse. Moreover, faculty members are helping until you take addmission their . If you are a student their they would be strict. The management in Chandigarh University is very slow and irrelevant in my opinion. The ratio between students and faculty would be around 1 faculty members for 20 students. As a fresher I got to know that all the professor in 1yr are in PhD or practicing. They say that their teaching is more practical but the reality is it is more theoretical because we have only 1-2 practical class in one week and 4-5 theory classes. Our semester syllabus was for 4-5 months in real time to complete but the semester was completed in a hurry by faculty in less than 3 months or even 2 months. This is the reason for students who didn't prepared for jee mains or advance to get less marks and understand less.

Internships Opportunities

3

I don't have much information about the internship and projects. But according to seniors the only way to get internship is to apply it yourself the university will not provide any of it and at last the time of project some what's if they agree with you they will provide some assistance from the faculty members.

Placement Experience

3.5

As I am a fresher I don't know much about the campus placements available here. However according to the seniors it is no very good because they told us that it is a trap to be in our comfortable zone having in mind that we will get 100% placement. Students are eligible for placement from 6th semester endings. According to university 9164 or something offers were made but I don't think that it's true . Around 65% of the students get placement. So my plans are to get a start up starting or start applying for jobs by myself only before the university placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of study has increased of about 20% since last years. The main policy is to provide better package to faculty and have better student capacity so it is definitely to do business with students.howeved till now it's been lower than other colleges ,so better .

Campus Life

4.5

The number of clubs and infrastructure present is ridiculous as there are infinite number of clubs and around 15 buildings in the campus. I would definitely give it to Chandigarh University for extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

Actually my hostel experience is not very good because I applied for it very late so I got hostel out of the campus . The meal is good or above than average in the mess the faculty is also supportive. But the rent for hostels is not reasonable because they are talking around 12k for each month.otherwise everything is good.

Admission

As Chandigarh University is a private university the eligibility criteria is very basic for science students and probably to other field also . I got the ads about cucet while researching about colleges . www.cucet.cuchd.in is the website for admission application in CU, application dates are very convienent.Anyone can apply for cucet the entrance exam and can avail scholarship as per their merits. As for the addmission process it is very convenient it's just they need to be more clear about the entrance exam's results. By showing the right and wrong questions attempted.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
