Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is rather thoughtful with bio in one semester and non bio subjects in the other. It includes subjects like Mathematics, English, Physics, Electrical engineering and C programming. I chose this course as it provides good placement opportunities and rther handsome salary. The faculty:student ratio is pretty good and no student is left unguided. Most of the faculty members are PHD scholars and are thorough with their subject. Fully equiped laboratories help put our knowledge to practice. The exams are held timely and syllabus is completed well in advance. The difficulty level is medium with the passing percentage as 35% of the highest marks obtained by the topper in an exam.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies like Microsoft, Dell,Google IBM , SAP labs visit every year and provide internships to 75% of the students atleast once in a tenure of four years with a handsome stipend. 2000+ companies visit every year and provide training for 3-6 months whereby the highest stipend stands at 1 lakh per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college offers 98% placement whereby 700/1000 students are placed in well known companies like google, IBM, amazon etc. Students become eligible for placement from the 3rd year. 858 companies visited last year for the CSE department alone. the highest international package stands at 1.7 Cr LPA, highest domentic package was 54.75 LPA and the average package stands at 9.54LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for CSE stands at 120000 per semester but with the aid of the scholarship offered through the CUCET exam my fee per semester is 60000 only. The college also provides loan for studies and 75% of the students are offered internships atleast once in a tenure of four years with handsome stipends.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is unmatched as a number of fests and events are held every now and then like International music festival, CU annual fest (February) and many concerts. A number of clubs like music club, dance club, art clubs etc open a number of opportunities for the students to enhance their skills and enjoy at the same time. Libraries are well equiped with an e-library having computer systems as well as a plethora of reference books. The classrooms are well equiped and clean. Their are 2 basket ball courts, badminton courts as well as cricket feilds where a number of extra curricular activities take place like sports competitions and open mic competitions as well as flash mob dances and plays.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels are rather neat and clean. Rooms consist of seperate beds cupboards and chairs for each student. The quality of the food is top-notch and the menu keeps changing with special items every now and then. Registration process is rather easy you can register online as well as visit in person. They are rather affordable and stand at 120000 per year for a four seater room with breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner which is a really great deal.

Admission

Eligibilty criteria consists of minimum 50 percent marks in class 12th. A common entrance(CUCET) test is also taken by Chandigarh university which then provides scholarship to the top performers. Once the results are out you can apply for your course through the official site of Chandigarh University. The admission process is rather easy with faculty guiding you throughout.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
