- I liked the way of teaching of the faculty very much. there experience could be easily be seen from their way of teaching.
- The campaign and the initiatives taken by the students for the poor people are very appreciable.
- The environment and the infrastructure is also very good.
Dislikes
- The hostel facilities are very bad which includes the washrooms and the mess in particular.
- The process of any listening to a complaint is very time taking.
- The lack of strictness makes the student lack in discipline.
Course Curriculum Overview
1) I chose the BCA course because of expecting the future era as the era of technology and in Chandigarh DAV is the best college for BCA. 2) The faculty has a good experience of minimum 7 to 8 years. 3) They are fully aware of the easiest method to explain the students all the concepts. 4) The exams were quiet easy for the students who have attended the classes honestly and dedicatedly did their work. 5) The faculty to students ratio is about 1:60 and I think that is quiet favourable and enough as many of the students were absentees.
Placement Experience
1) The students become eligible for the placements in the 3rd year. 2) The average package is 300000rs per annum and the highest package is 1100000 RS per annum. 3) The placement rate is 30% to 40%. 4) I will go for MBA after getting my bachelor degree. 5) Around 30 companies visited the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
1) The fees is around 15000rs for the whole course. 2) There are not enough options for getting scholarships. 3) The campus jobs are also not many in numbers and the average package is very low. 4) The return in investment for the students is very good because the fees of the course is very low.
Campus Life
1) The life at the campus Is very good. There are many clubs including business club, rotaractory club, arts club, etc. 2) The infrastructure is also very good as comparing to the fees. 3) The classroom facilities are not very good. There. Is very suffocating classrooms. 4) The social group is the rotaractory club which is run by students only. The students are selected as the members of the club on the basis of a personal interview which is taken by the old members of the group. 5) There are many extra curricular activities which are organised in the college which includes fashion shows, skits, dance competitions, etc.
Hostel Facilities
1) The rent for the hostel for non AC rooms was 90000 RS per year and for the AC rooms was 110000rs per year. 2) The rooms were very good but the washrooms had a very bad odour and the food was also not fresh. 3) The rent was affordable as compared to the the rent of the pgs in chandigarh. 4) The registration of the hostel can be done from davchd.ac.in after the selection is confirmed.
Admission
1) The admission process was quiet lengthy but was fruitful. 2) I didn't give any entrance exam for the admission. The admission was given on the basis of the results of 12th class 3) The cutoffs went upto 79%. 4) I have taken admission through the individual form of DAV. 5) The reservation benefits were availed by many students. The maximum no. Of seats were taken by the students of EWS categor through the form of dhe. 6) The eligibility is that the student must have cleared the 12th class with minimum 50% marks. 7) The application form can be filled from davchd.ac.in 8) I don't think there is a need of any improvement in the admission process as I got the admission very easily.
