Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chosen this course because I have a keen interest in this field. I was also helping my father in his business before and I have chosen finance as my major & faculty- student ratio is around 15:1 in IMNU. Faculty members are well-educated and very professional in their work. They are involved in research, have corporate world experience, have masters degree from prestigious colleges.Their way of teaching is also very awesome, they make class very interactive, use case studies, videos, online study materials and so on for their teaching. Apart from this, they are also very supporting and helpful. Term exams are held in evry three months & There is a gap of one and half month between mid-term and end-term exams. Difficulty of exams depend upon the subject, faculty and student's own background.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Comapnies that came for internship process are JP Morgan , ICICI Bank, JIO , etc. The role they offered is of Finance intern, sales, business development, etc. They offers stipend in teh range of 0-1,00,000. College also provides us with many live project opportunities and online course like skilled sapiens live project, finlatics financial market analyst program , etc. Learnings we get from these projects are related to equity evaluation, invetsment abnking process and so on.

Placement Experience

4

Placements of college are decent as recession time is going on, it is also effective in the college placement process. However the college has a good placement record, they provide 100% placement for students. Students become eligible for the placement process from the 5th semester and for the internship process from the 2nd semester. Companies visited for college placements are JP Morgan, Arcesium, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, Morgan Stanley, etc. Highest package has been around 30 lakhs and lowest placements has been around 10 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree is to get a good job and then will prepare for governmnet banking exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total cost of doing an MBA from Nirma University is around 15,00,000 including mess food, hostel facility, and study materials & there is no such specific hike policy in the college, it all depends upon the college expenses and inflation. College provides scholarship on the basis of merit and financial condition but i haven't got it so I don't have much knowledge about it. Companies that comes for inetrnship and placement process offers a job of finance, marketing, opeartions, and HR field & the stipend of internship ranges from Rs.0- Rs.1,00,000.

Campus Life

4

Campus life in Nirma University is really very fun. The campus is really very beautiful and full of greenery. It feels so good and fresh around. They have made a lot of places to sit and study and also to chill. Annual fest are conducted usually in the month of Feb and tech fests are conducted in January. Recently, they have conducted tech-fest like Anveshan, Kurukshetra, and all. The annual fest Perspective Richter that is being conducted in the end of February. Classrooms are well-furnshid with projectors, air-conditioner,and modern. In library, they have vast collection of books and journals and also there is online resources available for IMNU students. There are lots of clubs and committees in the college like sports committe, cultural committe, club fiesta. drama club, spandan(Social club), News junction and so on. Sportscomm conducted a lot of sports events like cricket match tournament, football match, basketball match , etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are really very good and comfotable. They have provided a lot of facilities in the hostel premises. Every room has beds, wardrobe, study tables and chairs, ACs for girls ,and many more things. Laundary facilities are also there in the hostel. Girls hostel also have night canteen which opens from 10:00 pm - 5:00 am. Mess food is also not bad, they changes menu in every 15 days. & menu is also very versatlie like sometime s tehy give gujarati food, south indian food and normal food. Registeration process for hostel is very simple, we just have to fill the registeration form , submit required documents, and the fess nefore entering the hostel. I don't have knowledge related to pg and rental room as MBA is residential program here so everyone has to stay in the hostel only.

Admission

Admission process for MBA was smooth. The eligibility criteria for the course is that you should have atleast 60% in your graduation, 10th and 12th. Candidate should have 80+ percentile in CAT. Application form can be found on the official website of Nirma University and application fees for the same is Rs.1500 and that is non-refundable.There are no reservation benefits also for the admission process. Criteria is same for everyone. The thing they can do for improvement is that they can make their admission process little faster.

Interview Experience

3.5

In the admission process of Nirma University, it includes writing test in which you have to write 200-300 words on a topic , after shortlisting in it , you will have a call for interview round. Topics for writing test was very generic as I had a topic related to "social media influence in the education sector" in my test. Basically you just have to be aware about what is going on around you & should have littlt much knowledge about it like "AI in education sector,Indian goods vs Chinese goods".Intreview questions are also not much difficult, they will ask you about yourself, why you chose this program , where do you see yourself in 5 years and also the basic general knowledge about your state from where you belongs to.

Remarks:

Information asymmetry can be easily observed between PGDM (DS) and BE students. Many times, important information is asymmetrically distributed in BE and DS students. Many of us were called again and again to join Development Studies track. It also happened that after joining DS course, many students opted to take up BE again. If you are inclined towards social work, join DS, otherwise don’t, you will suffer.
