Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is very rigrous for the first two terms, it will train you well how to manage things and you will learn how to prioritize things. I chose this course because I wanted to build my career in finance sector and this course will help me. We have lots of faculties who have great knowledge and experience, they know how to engage with students and thus makes it easier for us. The term exams were always timely conducted and the course was also timely finished. To ace in these exams one needs to study from the start itself.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible for placements during their fourth semester (post internship). Many companies have visited our college of which includes JP Morgan, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBI, Infosys, Tata Aig, etc. These companies also offer PPO. As of now I am in first year and have been offered internship offer from Bharti Axa. The average package in our College is around 10LPA. Highest I think is around 25LPA. Around 80-90% of Students are placed as of now and many more are getting placed. Post my degree I have plan to build my Career in either Consulting or Financial sector

Fees and Financial Aid

As compared to rest of the colleges in this league, this is the most affordable collage and collage does provide financial assitance to its merit based scholar students. As of now I have got my internship confirmed with Bharti AXA life Insurance with a stipened of Rs50000.

Campus Life

4.5

The library is very rich with the amout of available resources. It consits of Magazines, Journals, Research papers, books etc. The Classrooms are well equiped with normal black boards, projectors, AC. THe clasrooms can ocuppy a max of 80 students. The college regularly conducts sports events like Cricket, Football, Hockey, Chess, etc. THey have playing grounds for each individuall sports and sufficient resources too. I am part of Kaizen (Alumni Relations Committee) it is run by students, for bridging the gap between alumns and the students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The Hostel facility includes Laundry which is available twice a week, apart from that daily the rooms and washrooms are being cleaned. Their are a total of three options available first, normal rooms. Second rooms with AC and third rooms with AC and attatched washroom. The quality of food is decent but the best part about mess is they change the menu every alternate week. The Hostel is mandatory for my program as it requires you to stay within the campus. During the start of the course the warden along with one more faculty will regularly visit your room just to ensure that nothing wrong is going on and they will make sure that you are comfirtable here .

Admission

Eligibility for the course was that the person should have a minimum of 80 percentile in his CAT exam and he/she should be graduate or in the final year of graduation. Apart from that one has to clear PI process for the college. The Application form was available in the website of Nirma university Their were few seats reserved for NRI candidates No the overall process for admission was very smooth and didnt required any more improvement

Interview Experience

4.5

Their was a personal Interview round for my college apart from the Cat cut off. I did cleared my PI round. It was an online Interview which lasted around 5-10 mins where they asked me about my educational background , why MBA , other technical questions related to my graduation and my previous Internship. I did took some online clases from one of the mentors who used to teach in Career Launcher earlier. He helped prepare for all the basic questions and also helped me how to reframe my answers.

Placement Experience:

The placement season at IIMA starts from December onward. This includes a three to four day marathon placement season that witnesses more than 150 companies visiting the campus. These companies include MNCs such as American Express, Blackrock, Boston Consulting Group, Mastercard, P&G, Nestle Indian conglomerates such as Aditya Birla Group, Tata Group, Mahindra Group, HUL, technology companies such as Amazon, Zomato, Sprinklr. In total ~480 offers are made to candidates in total across laterals as well as finals placement processes. A 100% placement has been a record at IIMA for many years now. While the average package lied somewhere around INR 20 LPA, the maximum was to the tune of INR 75 LPA (and perhaps even more for international locations). I ventured into consulting domain, one of the most revered and sought after clusters post my MBA at IIMA.

Placements are very nice, placements are provided once the student completes the final master year I.e. 5th year. After that, the student becomes eligible for placement. Many companies like Tata, Data consulting, reliance, etc. Have visited and got the best of their employees at this place. Most of the time 100% placement is offered.

Remarks:

Information asymmetry can be easily observed between PGDM (DS) and BE students. Many times, important information is asymmetrically distributed in BE and DS students. Many of us were called again and again to join Development Studies track. It also happened that after joining DS course, many students opted to take up BE again. If you are inclined towards social work, join DS, otherwise don’t, you will suffer.
