Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

course cirriculum is little outdated but it is the same that is being followed in other NIT's. The cource is pretty useful and can help you in real world applications but it needs some improvements like teaching in non tradditional methods like without using the textbooks. The exams and assignments are quite frequently conducted, mainly we have Mid-Sems and End-sems. Others are tests and assignments which carry internal marks and grading. The difficulty is not very hard, it is manageable if done regularly.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college is a government college, which is why the feess structure is considerably less compared to other colleges. Esecially people with less income and of categories of OBC,SC,ST have a lot of tution wavers. The fees for general is about, 6-7 lakhs (for 4 yrs) but for economically weaker sections the fees can go as low as 1 lakh (for 4 yrs). There are also lots of scholarship opportunities which are based on aptitude exams. campus placements are also pretty impressive especially for circuital and computer branches. The average placement of the college being about 14 LPA for ece and 18LPA for CSE.

Campus Life

3.5

The overall experience is pretty good in my opinion. The sports facilities, labs and the infrastructre might be a little old but they are still very good. The environment that we get here in terms of academics and other activities is very impressive. There are a lots of clubs, both technical and non-techical where we can learn lots of things, and i think this is one of the biggest advantage of this college.

Admission

The admision process was for about 3 hours. We were to first check all the original documents that is 10th boards marks sheet , 12th boards mark sheet, aadhar card, jee rank and college fee payment proof. Then roll number allotment and hostel room allotment took place. The cut-off isnt as high as the top NIT's but we need a minimum of 98 percentile for a circuital branch if you are frm general male category. The college is overall good in terms of academics and labs but the buildings and teaching methods are still old.

Course Curriculum Overview:

See I had the passion for civil since my 10th std. I am really happy about my course . Because there are many job opportunities in govt sector in Assam. I like the teachers of my dept but some are not that friendly . Maybe it depends upon their mood sometimes I don't know really . The civil course is practical it's enjoyable. I would have liked it more if it would had more placement opportunities on campus . Otherwise it's fine
