Course Curriculum Overview

3

At first, I took a B.E in Computer Science And Engineering (General) after that I researched which technology is currently high in the market so, that I could shift to that specialization after my 1st year I moved to AIT-CSE (BIG DATA AND ANALYTICS). If I have to rate my curriculum I would like to give it 2.5/5 for my academic pursuits. The Course Curriculum is well designed but the issue is in teaching methods some teachers just blindly teach PPTs and some aren't able to explain properly. There is a total of 3 exams MST-1, MST-2, and END TERM for MST the timing is 1 hour (20 marks) for END TERM it's 2 hours (60 Marks). and difficulty is medium.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Companies like zscalar, Tech Mahindra, Highradius etc offer internships with stipends of 15k-30k according to your skill level. roles they offer like (software developer, analyst, web development, full stack, android developer) projects should be similar to there company roles they ask.

Placement Experience

2

from the end of the 6th semester, students are going to sit for placements. this year a total of 905 companies came and they offer 9000+ offers for all branches. companies like(IBM, NOKIA, SAMSUNG, DELL, ACCENTURE, DXC, KPIT etc) highest is 54 lakhs and average is 3-4 lakhs per year. for our batch only 20-25% students got placed due to resersion my plans is to do job and gain some experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no increase policy for tuition fees but every year for new students it increases 10000/- on tuition fees and if you have a scholarship and you have a backlog or cgpa score less than 7.5 in your academics they will remove your scholarship. The cost of education depends on the course you take it varies from course to course but if you want to know about computer science and engineering it will be 98000 per semester and registration fees is 10000. You can take a student loan from college and if you are a defence brat you will get a 10% scholarship There is no campus employment for students

Campus Life

4

CU is full of fest and events if you just want to have fun explore and enjoy I would say it's the best college for you there are so many fest and events happening here big celebrities also come here for their movie promotions, DJ nights, Tashan Nights, and Award function and many more. There is a rich collocation of books and journals available in the library there are a total of 3 libraries on campus the biggest one is the central library which will open till 10:30 PM. The facilities and technological provision within the classrooms are good enough 4/5. coming to sports and extracurricular activities are offered so many you can join so many clubs here like dance club, athletics club, yoga club, singing club etc. yes, students do run social groups but not on a big scale.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There is a total of 10 boys hostel (6-NC TOWER & 4-ZAKIR TOWER) and 4 girls hostel. if you have taken NC hostel which is a 4 seater it would cost you nearly 1 lakh and if you have taken Zakir 5 seaters it would cost nearly 95000. and other rooms like 3,2 and 1 seater their price is more than 1,30,000. But to be honest, the hostels are awesome with good facilities 24/7 water and with internet, good washrooms and food is also ok. meal is good but sometimes it's just okay menu changes every dance they will not repeat the menu twice a week. for hostel registration you can apply through your cuims account which is provided by university in that you can choose you hostel but they will give you room no. by there own.

Admission

First of all, there are no eligibility criteria for admission, but when you register on their official page they will call you and ask whether you have 60% aggregate marks in all your subjects in 12th. I found the application form online just type the Chandigarh University application form the first link that will be shown is the official one. Application fees are 1000/- and you can apply after you get your 12th marks. If you want a scholarship or reservation you can write cucet scholarship exam which is held online or if your mark is more than 85 in your 12th you will scholarship or if you are from a defence background you will get a 10% scholarship. The exam will be in online and it is totally MCQ and difficulty level is easy and coming to timings It will be 1-2 hours only. My suggestion to improve the admission process is to please take only limited capable students instead of taking thousands of students in one batch which will affect future placements.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
