Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum which I chose was CSE general. I don't really think it's upto standards of today in any college of India. We are still taught the old school methods and approaches. We are still taught languages and subjects may not help in our course. The frequency of exams is okay but not enough for students.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

There are internships in the college but they start from second year so i have no idea about them as I am still in first year. But as I have heard students so get internship opportunities with the help of the college.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placements here are not that good. Students do get placements but for the name of it. They aren't sufficient in today's world. What I will suggest is that don't get influenced by the advertisements the reality is very different.

Fees and Financial Aid

I disagree on the tution fees hike policy as every year the fees of students is increased but there are rare changes of subjects in the curriculum. The new students are still taught the same students from the last few years have even studying. We do get a scholarship by CUCET exam it's a great help to students but not every student is able to maintain it.

Campus Life

3.5

This is the portion where CU is much better than other colleges. There are lots of fests happening every month. The facilities to co circular activities are great. The only thing they lack is not letting the students attend them by giving them attendance. Students have to sacrifice there attendance for visiting those events.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I have taken a 3 seater AC room. Don't believe in the tantrums done by the hostel faculties that hostel is not available near the campus. There are empty rooms but they insist on sending the students to the city hostel. You will have to go round and round to blocks to avail a hostel but it's good. The meal quality is poor it's not that good at all

Admission

Everyone with above 50% marks in class 12 can apply for this university. The admission process is very easy even if you visit the website of the Chandigarh University. You will start getting calls to avail admissions. The norms of admission are not clearly told.

Faculty

3

There is no lack of faculty here. There are enough teachers for each subject. The faculty behaviour depends on the individual some faculties are very good and do teach great but some do it for the sake of doing it. We do have an open system of approaching the teachers we can go then whenever we have any doubts.

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
