Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

A smaller number of students is the biggest benefit of this college, as students have fewer opportunities is more to get a good package. The teaching style is good but the teacher should focus on real applications rather than reading PPTs and just explaining the theory part. Exams are held on a regular basis. 3 tests are conducted every semester with and approx gap of 1 month. And 2 practical evaluations is also conducted to test your problem-solving. Difficulty level is moderate and one can easily score a good CGPA if he studies regularly.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

As per seniors' information, internship opportunities are a bit fewer as compared to job offers. Companies here mainly hire for full-time jobs. But ofcourse some companies give you internship opportunities. Like this year only many 3rd year students secured good interships. You have to do projects and different certificate courses to stay out of the crowd.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placement is decent here. You have to work hard to get even 3LPA job here. Placement cell helps to get you a job. But recently, placement percentage dropped due to recession and also the increase of opting higher studies after graduation. Companies like Amazon and Google sometimes return back without giving any offer because of low skills. And eligiblity for placement is from 6th semster. I wish I secure a decent placement while I am completing my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee remain same from the year you entered the college till your graduation year. But this tuition fee increases every year for new students. The development fee is also very low. But the real problem is the hostel fee. Hostel is not that good as per their fee. You can complete your B.Tech by paying almost 16 lakh (including the hostel) here. Scholarships are provided but the sad part is only for EWS,SC, ST and OBC students.

Campus Life

4.5

All type of fests are organized in this college. During November-December cultural and bollywood fests are organized. Technical fest like hackathons, kodethons are also organised within a gap of a month. Library is very good here. Well organised, with desktop available for e-learning. More than 2000 books and magzines are available for all students. Classrooms are equipped with projector and sound system with spacious seats and a huge white board. Sports wing is also very active which organises sports meet and inter-year battle. Cricket, Football, VolleyBall, Badmintion and more games are available. Jaypee youth Club is also there which is run by students and supervised by faculty members and good opportunity is given to all students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Spacious rooms are provided with cooling system other than fan is also installed which is operated by college only during summers. Chairs are bit uncomfortable and causes beackpain. Rest bed table and cupboards are great. Meal quality is good but taste is below average. Only few dishes are tasty and sweets are provided in dinner which are awesome. Almost 1.6 Lakh per year is the hostel fee here which is very high as per the facility provied. You can get rented room or PG at half prices in nearby locality

Admission

Eligibility of course is, you have to score 60% marks in your board exam. Admission are taken from your JEE score and even from your board percentage. Talking about the cutoff, it is on lower side only, if you have 70% marks in boards you will get admission here and the JEE percentile is 70+. The admission process is also very smooth as already said this college is very parent friendly so you will not face any difficulty if you have all the correct documents with you.

Faculty

4

Almost 90% faculty memebers are PHD holders from top IITs but some of them didn't diliver that quality content in class. And talking about the student-faculty ratio, it depends on student if he want to interact teacher will coordinate and clarify every doubt and even faculty try to motivates you on daily basis. 4-5pm time is given for doubt session only. Students can visit their cabin and solve their doubts.

Other Applied Colleges

Chandigarh University - [CU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] {Lateral} (Computer Science & Engineering)

Environment of the college was not good and students were more into alcohols and drugs. Number of students were also very high.

Bennett University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

New college don't have much data to analyze the placements and campus life.

Placement Experience:

Placements in college are quite good if we compare them with other similar state government engineering colleges. It has a separate TPO (training and placement office) cell which helps students in their placements. Some quite good companies like TCS and Wipro visit the campus for placements. Around 40% of students get placed every year. The highest being 11 LPA. Core competencies the lowest 3.5 LPA salary offered in IT sector companies. Reliance, LNT, Infosys were the top recruiters. Every year students go for internships in BHEL NTPC etc. Companies ( around 30%) Other 70% students go for local transmission plant as the internship is compulsory for everyone. Students organize cultural activities.
