Remarks
Pros - The college offers a great environment to build the overall personality of a person from academics to extracurricular. This is one of the top colleges in Chandigarh. Cons- Need to work on placement debt. Also, sanitation of the bathroom needs to be worked upon.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is well precise. It is divided into 2 semesters. The college is affiliated to Punjab University. Practical based learning is given more importance than theoretical based work. Seminars, labs, college educational visits are a part of the curriculum.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are okay. The placement cell is in development. The packages offered are not as high as those offered in engineering colleges but those are good for those who want to work. But I would recommend going for post-grad.
College Events
There are various events in the college. This year college cultural fest has been introduced "Kaarvaan". Other than this there are separate clubs like Aaghaz, DSW, Lassaya, Heritage society etc. There are also clubs or societies like Economics society, a History society, Literary Society etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are quite reasonable as the college is semi-private. The college is affiliated to Punjab University. There is a semester system so the fees are paid yearly. I paid 16500 for admission. Other than this the exam fees are paid semesterly. I paid 2000 without practical.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I haven't opted for so. The fees are quite reasonable. But I think SBI offers loan facility in our college.
Campus Life
The campus life is amazing. You can excel in co-curricular or be great at studies. The college offers a variety of opportunities. There are various competitions inter and Intra college. The college has won laurels in every field be it sports, education or co-curricular.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful. They guide you through college life and help you survive through it. Ragging is banned in college. The college is ragging free. The alumni meet is also there. So overall it is a friendly place.
Admission
First, an application form was filled by me for prospectus by giving some money. Then I attached relevant docs and submitted in dean office. He Verified them and then attested them. After that, I submitted it in the accounts department and logged in the student portal and paid my dues via net banking.
Faculty
The faculty is well qualified. Most of them are Ph.D.'s and those who are up to masters are Ph.D. pursuing. The faculty is regular and well supportive. Other than this there are lab assistants for labs who help students in practical work. Thus DAV is best in terms of education.
