Likes
- One thing which is appreciable about this college is the campus itself. It's quite cleaner compared to other colleges. It's nice to see that the students, faculty members and other staffs actually do care about cleanliness
- The college environment is actually good. Be it the academic environment, sports, cultural events, etc., You'll actually feel that yes! I can actually spend a good amount of time in these 3 to 5 or more years.
- The faculty members and office staffs are quite good though negligent sometimes. There are teachers or professors who'll actually guide you towards achieving your future goals and all, obviously if you ask or seek for help.
Dislikes
- One problem which every student has faced atleast once in their college life is the waterlogging or mini floods that occur inside the college and the college boys hostel during monsoon season.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.Com is a basic degree in the field of commerce which allows you to acquire knowledge regarding various subjects related to business and corporate sectors. It provides you a foundation if you are willing to open a business in future or go in the corporate sector or any other sector. The curriculum is mostly theory based so basically it will give you a good foundation or knowledge regarding how to deal with certain situations if they occur. But in the practical world, you need to apply those knowledge along with acquiring other skills if you want to make yourself marketable. So a more practical based approach can be adopted to make the students ready for the real world. Due to the semester system, the frequency of examinations, assignments, etc. is high though the difficulty level is not as high.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for B.Com is around 5000-6000. You can also apply for free admission by showing your income certificate (if the annual income is below Rs. 2Lakh). Also students can apply for scholarships such as the Ishan Uday scheme through which they can get free scholarship which is given on merit basis (HS Marks).
Campus Life
Every year the college Student Union organises an Annual College Week event where the students can take part in various events such as sports, drama, music, painting, debate, dance, etc. and showcase their talent and skills in front of everyone. There are other events too. There is a wide range of books, magazines, journals available in the library. You can borrow books using the library card (which you'll have to apply for). The classrooms are quite normal. Some classrooms do have AC. Also there are other groups/clubs such as NCC, NSS, Drama/cultural society, where students can enroll themselves to take part in co-curricular activities and all. Many students get benefitted from these.
Admission
The admission can be done online via the college website. You just need to register yourself with the college website. Create a student profile and then accordingly complete the admission process. For B.Com course, generally the admission is done on merit basis i.e. HS marks (the cutoff is around 75-80 for general students, for others it is lower).
Faculty
The faculty members are mostly qualified M.Com passed out or PhD holder professors who are very knowledgeable and skilled in their field. There are some professors who are so fun to talk to you can easily interact with them regarding any topic or any problems you face. They are happy to mentor you. But there are also some professors who are not very approachable or interactive, so it's difficult to get friendly with them or share any problem or ask for any queries or doubts regarding any matter.
