Likes
- The professors are extremely helpful and kind and often open to cross questionings. The course is enjoyable too.
- There are many hackathons, drama clubs, coding workshops to learn from and students are very diverse, you can learn a lot from them as the crowd here is decent and genuine.
- The placement scene is also decent, my roommate of the 3rd year already got his one year internship and is ready to earn
Dislikes
- There is boarding issue for 128 students, a separate hostel could be constructed as there is a 11km stretch that students of the 128 campus cover everyday.
- There are less sports facility in the 62 sector, in 128 you can play almost everything but in 62 thats not the case.
- The college uniform again is a big step back, its necessary to where it and if not then fine will be deduced.
Course Curriculum Overview
the curriculum is very much relevant, however i think they should teach python instead of C in the first sem, but thats just me. Other than that there is no chemistry related subjects in the college, which is absolutely relevant as technological fields do not require the use of chemsitry
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure as of now is 1,55,000 per semester for the first year and then it gradually increases a bit, by the end of your btech youd have spent around 14 lakhs on the college fees. There are two scholarships given, first is the william webster scholarship, think of this scholarship more like a loan lent to you(thats what my seniors told me) and the other scholarship is the government scholarships given by the state.
Campus Life
Campus life is great, there are a lot of group activities to focus on, and you can always find your crowd anyways. There is GDSC, cinekala, OSDC, Gamedev, all kinds of clubs and their involvement is very much.
Admission
To be elegible for computer science your rank should be around 60k(for sector 62) and for sector 128, this year 1.2 lakh rank was also considered even though that totally depends on the year, but given that seats are being increased every year in cse, you might just make it. As for the application process, you have to go on their website and fill up the admission forms, then they have their counsellings, for that you have to go to their main campus in sector 62. You are given a brief choice colleges from JP guna, JP wakhnaghat, Jp noida(both sectors) and then you have to wait till the ranks are called, if you have been called to the counselling chances are that you will likely make the final cut.
Faculty
The faculty members are brilliant everyone holds a phd, most of them have done one of their degrees from an IIT and are genunely interested in their content. The faculty is also very helpful and friendly with all the students, even the lab teachers are nice.
