Course Curriculum Overview

5

My reason for choosing this course was the fact that the world is changing into a private organisation oriented world, so as this institution was offering this course, I chose it. It teaches me the subjects that are related to the business world and also the legal subjects. This curriculum is Designed with real-world in mind, and it prepares us for most of the real world aspects. There can be practical experience that can be involved in this course which can make it even better. We have our exam every 4- months and we have our mid-sems after 1½ or 2 months. The difficulties is Moderately tough. If you study well you can ace it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees remain the same as at the time of the admission for the remaining 5-years but the hostel fees may increase as per the instruction's demand. My course currently costs me 1.5 laks per annum including all other costs. As I am still a 1st year student I don't have much experience regarding jobs and responsibilities in the college, and I haven't earned any stripends.

Campus Life

4

We generally have our fest in the month of April and it has been held that way for a while now. It's is generally a 3-day programme. Every type of law book is available in the library and it can availed upto a limit of 4 books a semester. We have smart classrooms for every batch. And there is more specially facilitated classroom with more technological facilities. Our campus doesn't have any sport facilities and extracurricular activities rooms aren't provided. There are cultural groups that are student run and they are supervised by our faculties.

Admission

The admission is done after online exams are conducted and the cut-off is above 70% and the admission is generally easy, and not much difficult. Application form is easy to fill and it's free. The application lasts for a period of 2 months generally in the period of May-June. The admission payment method is through demand drafts which is rather inconvenient and that can be changed to other forms of easier payments.

Faculty

4.5

In our college each class generally consists of 60 students and one teacher. So in a class at a time the ratio is for every teacher there are 60 students. Due the fact that we don't have too many students in a class we have a great, inclusive and interactive learning sessions. The teachers always try to clear our doubts within the time-frame of the class, but if they can't they ask us to come to them personally or they explain it in the next session without fail. Our faculties have good qualifications, every teacher is either a qualified NLU graduate or from other reputed institutions of law. They all are Doctors and hold a PhD. It's a great experience learning from such great mentors. Our teachers are very interactive and they can be approached within reasonable time and they are always ready to help any student who approaches them. Our staff room is always open if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BA LLB (Hons) is an integrated course that offers dual degree. The first two years curriculum covers the Humanitites subjects and few law subjects; while the last three years focuses on only the law subject. The curriculum has included all the major legal subjects and thus overall is designed to make the mot of the five years. There are three permanent faculties but many guest faculties will be dealing with several aspects of law. The batch strength is 60 and therefore, each student gets the required attention. The faculties of the college are highly experienced. The permanent facultites have a post doctoral degree in the relevant subject. The teaching method however, is quite traditional. A student may not find the classes interactive. Every semester, the students are evaluated by an internal test, a viva and a semester examination. The internal test and viva carry a weightage of 10 marks each while the semseter carries a weightage of 80 marks. Scoring marks can be a bit difficult.

Academically it's good, but poor infrastructure. No one cares about the infrastructure, since four years we just see the buildings getting painted but no renovation is being done because as we are being said that no proper funding is being provided.
